LOL! True, but you'd be surprised. Down here in Florida, I see women driving sports cars all the time. Rarely with manual trans tho.

Whilst I probably choose a manual, it'd be good to have a choice.

Yes, they were and 3 people ordered one and that's why they're worth a buttload of money.

"50 sales out there that wouldn't take the manual"

So you're saying that there aren't even 50 people TOTAL that would buy an automatic GT500.

I'm saying that Ford would sell a lot more than that, PER YEAR, considering how many buyers there are out there.

There's many people that will never consider a car like a Viper/GT500/Z06 because they're not available with an automatic.

Giving the buyer the choice is what it's all about.

Cars that look sporty. There's a difference.. actual high HP sports cars. And cars that look "sporty". .

Well first of all 50 is an exaggeration. What I'm saying is that there are only 50 buyers out there that ONLY want an automatic. I'm not counting the ones who would LIKE an automatic but will take the manual. :arewestraight:

A "slushbox" as many of you call it isnt as bad as it seems. The automatics now a days are light years ahead of the tech back even before 2000. Im all for the man-and-machine idea but from comfort, market oppurtunity, and ease of use standpoints and auto would be just fine. The new auto's in the 5.0's and 3.7's are insanely smooth, and of course theres always the option of a paddleshift as well.

In my honest opinion there is no substitute for the emotional connection when you get a manual transmission. But theres absolutely nothing wrong with an auto.

I don't think the general idea is that the automatics are "slushboxes" anymore I think it's more like "row your own" it's a muscle car.
Just my opinion but I feel more connected and it's more fun to drive a manual car, especially a mustang.
Driving a car is quite different than riding along in one.

I don't know man. If you ever get to drive one of those Italian super cars with an auto and paddles, man it's a new world. I really like an auto that shifts when I tell it to. I believe the manual only Shelby is a big reason a lot of auto vettes are sold also.

This forum is composed of rational and compasionate members. We should reach a concensus. Manuals for the 16-year old machismo macho men, A/Ts for the wimps and those with artificial knee caps.

. . .

A simple solution for such complicated problem.

Agree. I like using both hands and both feet when I drive. Not just simply hanging onto the steering wheel and pressing the go and stop pedals.

Driving a manual with lots of power is a whole lot more fun. I'll give you that. If I'm racing, I would rather an auto. Too much time lost clutching and shifting.

Want to know why you're not likely to see a DCT in a high performance Mustang any time soon?

3900 miles and out of warranty. I guess sometimes you dont get what you pay for. Makes the MT82 "problems" pale in comparison

One could also point out the GTR...

Tho not as good as buying an 85k GT500KR hood for 20k...

If you've never driven F1 and haven't experienced a gear change in 1/20th the time of your average blink. Then stop the bashing.

Somebody is overly emotionally invested in this opinion and seems to get his/ her feelings hurt if anyone disagrees.
