They haven't done their homework. They also said it would be available next November. When they make false statements it discounts the the whole article.
I also think they fail to understand that Ford needs to be competitive with the ZL1. Even though the specs are superior they can't charge $30K more for it. Somewhere around $5K more is likely imo.

Its 100 more hp, but all they did was bore out the 5.4 they were currently using (which doesn't cost them much extra), and upgrade the supercharger, which costs them maybe 1k more. Add the other improvements... I could see a 54k MSRP for the base, and then maybe 62k or so with track + perf packs.
I just hope with x-plan I can get that to around 59. I will totally be getting one if that is the case.

I'm thinking upper $60K loaded with all options (Electronics package, Performance pack, track pack, etc.) A '12 loaded coupe is already $59,905.

$62K loaded is the figure that keeps hanging in my mind. The 650hp isn't the main reason as to why it's appealing to me. I like the torsen, the leather recaros, they changed the gearing for better traction, updated the suspension and hopefully they'll make it in deep impact blue. If they do I'll order one if a dealer will order it at msrp. I might pay a bit more for it but I wont pay over sticker for it. Much more than $62-63K and the competition is going to get the business.
Case in point, I'm looking at 3 cars, the '13 GT500 ($62ish possibly) the '13 B302 ($45ish) and the Challenger SRT8 which can be had for roughly the same price as the B302. The Challenger is a gorgeous car, and you can get a pretty good deal on one. Now I know they're all a bit different but they are all muscle cars. That and my criteria that I can get it in a metallic blue that I like, and that they're good looking cars, which the Camaro is not, inside or out.

Go price out a 2012 GT500 coupe with no options. $49,605 with no options. Add $3,995 for the SVT Perf. Pack, and $1,595 for Recaro seats. Add $5,000 for a convertible.
I can see the '13 coming in right around $55k with the Track Pack option and nothing else.

I hope your right and the 2013 GT500 is only 5k more than the ZL1 but thats already where a fully loaded 2012 coupe is at. If the 2013 coupe fully loaded comes in at less than 67k I will be surprised. I sure hope Im wrong but with all of the changes made this car has definetly been moved to the next level and I fully expect that to be reflected in the price.

That's a good guess, probably within a small margin of error percentage.
The price difference between the '11 and '12 GT500s with identical options was about $1,000 more for the '12. Given the fact there is no definite information on all of the '13 upgrades associated with its performance bump the price increase could be minimal, or substancial if it turns out to be a short building cycle.
My uneducated guess for MSRP is low to mid $60s fully optioned. If it turns out to be a limited production due to the next gen and usual dealer rape charges come to play it will be in the $70s.

A Man Just Needs Some....
$70k + puts this car in the corvette category. Completely out of the ZL1's league. Bang for the buck, it better dammm perform. ZR1 and GTR territory. Hope it smokes everything out there.

You have to consider the upgraded Brembo brakes with 6-piston calipers, the quad exhaust, a possible beefed up version of the current transmission, suspension upgrades, and other components which are not visible in pictures but add to the costs.
