KennyG is correct. Although 126-127 cubic inches smaller, the Boss 302 had a 780cfm Holley, where as the other two big blocks only came with 735cfm Holleys.

Shelby De Mexico built Shelby's south of the border. What was unique about the body style and what other Ford Pony car did they build as a Shelby? kennyg

At the risk of swapping turns between us...

The Shelby De Mexico was actually built on a Coupe body with sail panels that made it appear kind of like a fastback.

Maverick was the other pony car built into a Shelby car.

If you had been to the RCMC meeting last night you would have had an abundance of trivia about fox bodies. I managed to get all 11 incorrect!

You are correct. I've been trying to give other people a chance to answer but sometimes just got to go ahead and keep it moving. You're up mgreene, I'll refrain from answering until 24 hours! kennyg

What was the first standard production (i.e., non-Shelby) Mustang to come from the factory with a hood scoop?

68 with a smooth hood and the turn signals were in the back of the scoop.

I believe you are correct. The site I used didn't even have the Cobra Jet on there, but searching for it shows a hood scoop.

So you are Googling for answers? Not everything you find on the web is true! Let's see what mgreene has to offer on this.

I search for most if I don't know the answer and it isn't on the site I use. I don't check just 1 site, I check multiple to make sure the answer is correct.

Skip is right - the 1968 1/2 428 Cobra Jet cars were the first.

The "turn signal" hoods were not really scoops.
