1967 had a grille ornament similar to 1965, the 1968 was more like the 1966 with the floating horse and corral. The quarter panel ornaments on a 1967 had vented/louvered looking ornaments and the 1968 had a single strip of chrome mounted on a body colored bezel. The gas cap had the same styling changes as the grille. kennyg

The government mandate was for reflectors on the sides. Ford opted to make it a light on the front fenders and reflectors on the rear quarters. There were two different reflectors used on the '68's quarters, a surface mount (same as used on Cougar) and a recessed one. kennyg

Front disc brakes were available as optional equipment on Mustangs with V-8's almost from the beginning of production. What year did front disc brakes become a standard production item for all Mustangs regardless of engine option? kennyg
The Ford GT40 won LeMans in 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969 to put an end to Ferrari dominance. LeMans was considered the pinnacle of innovation and automotive engineering advancement. What was significant about the winning vehicle in 1968 and 1969?
One of the competing cars was bodied as a Mirage in '69, but not carbon fiber way back then...
Still looking for the significance of the winning vehicle for 1968 and 1969.

While I was at lunch I kept thinking I had it wrong and it was a Lola chassis. The only reason I said carbon fiber was I knew Wier (Wyer sp?) was one of the carbon fiber pioneers in racing. It was too late to be Ken Miles driving. I think he crashed in '66. Were these the years of the Gulf cars winning?
OK, I'm gonna call the 24 hour rule on myself and let kennyg do the next one as he had the last correct answer.
The significance of the 1968 and 1969 LeMans winner? It was the exact same car that won both years - GT-40 chassis #P1075. First time this had ever happened!
