Ford made base model in Metuchen, New Jersey and they were shipped to Iona, Michigan to get the fiberglass parts put on. The parts were made by A.O. Smith.

1971 Mach 1 429-red 'Diamonds are Forever', 1964 Mustang convertible-white, 'Goldfinger', 1965 Mustang convertible-blue, 'Thunderball', and 1969 Cougar convertible-red 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'. OK, is that enough? kennyg

What Ford product was being designed as the new Mustang for 1989? It did go into production, but not as a Mustang. Enough Ford Mustang faithful raised such a stink that the establishment decided it wasn't such a good idea after all. But can you believe they even released a model called a GT! kennyg
