Just my 2 cents.
True - but it comes down to the sales staff too. State law here requires front plates but when I bought a new sports car three years ago the sales guy asked me if I wanted the front plates drilled into the bumper - I was on the fence and he said he would be happy to drill the holes at a later date if it ever became an issue for me.

Ford is making this car out to be something really special, and it is, but it's the little details that can diminish the experience. It's not a major deal, but to some people I can see that it can be.

When i took delivery of my GT-500, i told the dealership not to wash it, gas it, or take any plastic off of it. They were very good about it and kept the car inside for the few days i had to wait to clear my cash. They let me take it out and have it gassed with one of their employees. The guy prepping the car put 1 mile on the odometer. The rest of the mileage was from me.

A dealership will generally work with the customer and i have no complaints at all. I let them hang their rear license plate bracket on the car. I'll swap it out when my new custom plates arrive. For now, i advertise their services via the rear plate holder.

Edit to say....i live in one of those "must use a front plate" states and my dealership DID NOT afix the front plate upon my request. Don't let anyone tell you that they must.

I work in the health insurance industry so they already do.
I do understand about making profits and what not but what I hate about ADM's is that it takes these cars out of the hands of some real enthusiasts. I can afford a Bullitt Mustang at MSRP but add a $5000.00 ADM and it's out of reach. I don't want to hijack a thread this has been beaten to death. Back to topic, I bought my 05 in a neighboring state (IN) and they do not require a front plate so they did not put it on. I felt bad telling the dealership to leave off thier sticker considering they are a small town dealership and they gave me a great deal. The salesman told me, "If you wanna take our sticker off you can do it real easy with your fingernail". When I got the car home, it was my first "mod".

Where did you buy your car, realone? I'm in Indiana. I asked my dealer to leave everything off the bullitt and to have some specific stuff done to it and some accessories ordered... they said they would do it happily.

I bought mine at Jim Dobson Ford in Winamac IN. It's a really small town dealer (only 2 cars fit in the showroom). I was OK with thier sticker being on there. I took it off as soon as I got home. As long as the front plate was left off I was more than happy!!!

Heh, careful parking on the streets in Chicago with no front plate - I've been ticketed for that and nothing else before. $50 fine isn't too bad I guess, but still.

I Hate The Dealer Badging Too

why advertise for a dealer? they have money for that, expecially after all the people they rip off every day.

if they are a good dealer they will earn their customers from me talking to people, not from someone reading it on the back of my car.

there is only one dealer i know around omaha that has earned my praise and its a SATURN dealer. most gm and ford dealers around here are crooks!!!
I have to agree I hate the dealer badging too. I like to be asked f I want to advertise for them. Luckily I purchased my GT/CS right off the car carrier..they hadn't even inventoried it yet. Now I was trated fair and nice by this dealer and I would not have mined the license frame, but the lettering glued on would ruin the look of one sweet ride.

Well I'm leaving my Dealer sticker on for the following reason, I ordered my Mustang from a local dealer. They agree to X-plan pricing but after 2 months it still had not been given a Vin. I had a code 10 prioity for ordering, I later found out all their mustangs were going to Saleen, Foose, and Fang for customiztion (sp). They ordered very little for their lot. I found my Mustang 70 miles away in Logansport ,In. same price.
I love going in to my local dealer see all their dealers come out to look at it and as they come around to the back they see a Cass County Ford Sticker on the back. Several salesman have offer to place the sticker off but I tell them don't bother...but man does it drive them crazy seeing it. Plus its not a bad looking RED/White/BLUE sticker.

dly,

My home was in N. Indiana until recently. I lived near Columbia City/Warsaw in Kosciusko county. Where are you located? The gt/cs looks great!
