Do you mean the side emblems like the pony or the GT? Those are both glued and have guide holes in the sheet metal to align them. So if you remove the GT logo from the front quarter panels, you'll have to fill two small little holes.

the very few people that pay invoice or actually get a good deal, well they get a good deal. dealerships would not stay in business if everyone got a good deal. period!

in the few car deals i have worked, i have gotten good deals, even at ford and chevy dealers, but it was thanks to my own buying skill and knowledge level. in the car business, being naive will get you screwed. the saturn dealer i worked with was the best by far, and it had nothing to do with the price. we worked a no BS deal and i walked away happy with the car i wanted. that does not happen very often with big dealers around these parts.

once again, no offense to any of you dealer guys out there, as i know good dealers are around.
Apology accepted Nate. No problem. And just so you know, you didn't say OMAHA dealers in your original post. Had you said that, I wouldn't have posted what I did. While some dealers are not nice to deal with (I said some, cause I've seen it in person), others are great to deal with. We have many previous customers that come in just to shoot the breeze with us. Sorta like Cheers, where everyone knows your name. I take my profession VERY seriously. Do I make money at selling cars? Yes I do. If I didn't, I wouldn't be doing this for over 10 years. I have to to pay for all my medication I have to take (20 pills a day for my transplant), to pay for my mortgage on my house, and my Mustang. But I also saved ALOT of money as well. I'm no different than any other American making a living in this country. I just happen to do it in a profession that is not well loved by the public. So you know, there are TONS more out there who make LOTS more than I do, so you know. I like my job, and I take offense to when people question it (even if its indirectly. I want to defend my profession, as I do love it).

personally i would not purchase any car or truck from a dealer that added anything on to the paint! add a sticker to the window, windows do not fade. how many times do dealers need thier name on the car anyways? license plates, back sticker, front stick, left sticker, right sticker, where does it end?

the license plate is where i draw the line!

Well, if I had that attitude, I wouldn't have my Mustang. It had a dealer emblem on it the night I looked at it. I asked them to remove it. They did. No big deal. Why are some of you people making such an issue out of such a trivial matter?

Working for the railway, I knew exactly when my car was coming in at the rail auto compound. Within a day of the car arriving at the compound it was at the dealer's storage lot. I simply told the sales manager that I did not want any dealership badging on the car. If you pre-order a car you have that option but if you buy a car off the lot then you have to go with the dealer badging. I agree that the dealer badging should not be on the mustangs.

Yeah, I'm going to ask that no badging be put on my car. But they are normally very easy to remove for the most part if it is on there, so it's not a big deal to me.

I agree. The only time it isn't trivial is when they've drilled holes to attach a badge. Most don't do that any more

Our decal is a rubberized 2 inch emblem. Comes off EASILY with no leftover adhesive on the paint. No where near as hard to remove as some of our competitors.

When I had my car ordered from factory I told them not to install the front license plate or dealer stickers. All was done as requested, EXCEPT the front license plate.

I was walking around the car all happy then my face hit the floor when I saw two screws drilled in my front bumper. I told them if they don't replace the bumper I'll be ordering another Mustang.

They finally decided to change the bumper with a bumper off another 2008 Mustang GT that came in a week later. I even got it in writing saying they owe me a new bumper.

So all and all, I'm happy. But, all thats needed is asking the dealer to remove them.

I'm so happy the dealership I work for does not put on any dealership logos of any kind on our new or used vehicles. License plate frames, yes, but nothing else.

n8rfastback, I am so tempted to send you a link to our dealership's website so you can see that anyone can get a great deal at our website, and that 99.9% do get a great deal here. We sell all new Fords (except Bullitts and Shelbys) for way below MSRP everyday. We post our awesome sale price for each and every vehicle for sale, so it is incredibly easy to see what the deal is long before you arrive. The vast majority of what we sell is around invoice, +/- a couple hundred dollars. Bullitts and Shelby GT's are priced at MSRP here.

Anyway, I can't bring myself to send you a link to our website as I've vowed to remain anonymous on the Mustang Forums so that I can speak my mind openly (as my opinion doesn't always match my employer's, or Ford's). So, you are going to have to believe that with a little looking, there are some awesome dealers out there that want you to be happy and have you keep coming back forever for sales, service, parts, etc., along with all of your friends and family. Please don't let a few terrible dealers skew your opinion of all dealers.

I used to hate car dealers, until I became one. I still hate some car dealers - you know, the ones that still act old-school and beat customers to a pulp. However, there are many good ones out there nowadays, so you have to give kudos when due, and criticize only when warranted.

I used to hate cops (lots of speeding tickets when I was young), but you learn to appreciate that they are around to keep it safe for all of us and our loved ones.

I used to hate lawyers, until I hired one to help me get custody of my daughter from my whacked out ex. I tried doing the paperwork myself at first (I am college educated, so I thought it would be easy - wrong!). After seeing how much work was required and how thorough my attorney was, I gained a huge respect for what he does. Are there still crooked ones out there? Certainly! But, I found one that has really changed my perception.

if a logo is on the paint for any amount of time the paint around the logo will fade. imo no dealer should put anything on the paint!

My car had been in stock for 3 months or so when I bought it. There is no sign of where the dealer emblem used to be.

Luckily my salesman made sure I didn't get the White Vinyl Sticker on mine. Bullitt #0004 Has the Chrome Bert Wolfe Logo stuck to the trunk!! Check the pics on the left side of the trunk.

Just remember that the poor young fellow in the PDI department was just following the checklist. To him it is just a another car to clean and make ready for the sales staff. If you do not ask your salesperson for no stickers or tag frames. If the state law requires front plates , they will drill the front bumper.
Just my 2 cents.
