Official Bullitt Release & Pix!

As for those hung up on ADM's...I've order my Bullitt, no ADM and will get X plan if Ford allows it.
Most who have already ordered the Bullitt have been quote MSRP or lower.
Not sure why some folks want to keep stirring the pot with stuff that doesn't exist?

this is what you stated originally! and to me this statement still has no meaning. the bullitt will give you all the performance advantages of the shelby as well as an inhanced interior package.
the shelby does have a different look. but this "look" is very similar to the mustang gt, gt appearence package with spoiler delete. are you suggesting this look is what cost 8k dollars? ford charges 245 for this look!
the shelby gt and bullitt are the same car, just as the mustang gt and the c/s are the same car!

SGT vs. 2008 BULLITT
Ok folks ... allow me to ask this ...
If the Shelby GT and the 2008 BULLITT were both available for the same prices (and same expenses) which car would you buy, and WHY ... ???
Personally, I think this is a fair question(s) ...

Ride & Handling: The ride on the Shelby is very smooth, much too soft for my liking. It rides like a Cadillac. The car is very nimble though...much easier to toss around tight corners than my cobra. You don't feel the extra weight at all, in fact if feels lighter from a sense of tossability. (don't flame, it's true; maybe because of the better suspension???) I took a couple of wide sweeping turns that has posted limits of 35 mph that I easily passed through at 70, accelerating to 90 (part throttle) at the end. The grip was phenomenal, I do feel I could have made the exact same maneuver in my cobra, as well. Tight turns is where the Shelby has a huge advantage, the steering feel is much better and doesn't have any sloppiness and play like my cobra had. Going around a tight turn in my cobra, I felt the entire car just begging to do weird things. Although I felt very comfortable making any turn in my cobra, since I was very in tune with the car, more so than I am with the NEW Shelby. You can definitely feel a solid axle in the back, but it feels a million times better than any 04 or older solid.

this is a great question and one that should be. meaning both the bullitt and the shelby gt should be priced the same. low 30's!
i like the look of the shelby. i like the ride, and interior of the bullitt. i like the short throw hurst in the shelby. i like the gears in the bullitt! i would like to get a shelby white with red stripes. but i love the green on the bullitt.
i would get the bullitt, switch to the hurst shifter and add 3.90 gears just for the hell of it. it shall be called the 3.90 bullitt gt!!!!

At the risk of making an assumption, as you repeatedly and constantly make, neither do you.
I could care less about criticism either from those who never have or ever will set a foot on a GT500, neither from a writer who takes a car for a few hours and instantly transforms to an engineer.
THE TRUTH IS YOU DON'T KNOW. You should sometime in the near future make an effort to discover the difference between fantasy and reality then claim it as your very own New World.
If a professional opinion is what you seek then look up the relation between Ford Racing's track Mustangs' suspension upgrades and those on the stock GT500.
... The point was being made that the GT500 doesn't handle well- and you didn't like that criticism, hence your first hand experience comment...
I like the GT500 but the truth is it doesn't handle well- or at least as well as you would expect from a car with it's high price tag.

Why does everyone keep thinking there will be ADM's on the Bullitt? Several of us dealers here online have mentioned we're selling at MSRP. For those who have contacted just their local dealer(s) and were quoted ADM's, you gotta move on to the next dealer.
With the power of the internet and shipping companies, you can buy from anywhere in the country! We recently sold our last 06 Shelby GT-H to a gentleman in Pennsylvania, and we're in the Pacific NW. He got a much better deal than he could find in his own backyard.

Your really not any further ahead, than where you started at the local dealer who quoted the ADM..in the first place..
Either way, your going to wind up paying the same amount of money anyhow..
So in the end...Your really not getting a better deal, once you factor in all the freight, delivery, and shipping costs/fees

I can't find the beating a dead horse icon.
Maybe this will give you the "meaning" you're after.
A GT costs X dollars.
A GT/CS adds purely cosmetics and costs slightly more than a GT.
A Bullitt adds some very unique appearance touchs (but nothing that really costs Ford, if you think about it), but also has the performance mods and costs slightly more than a GT. What is "enhanced" about the interior except the target on the gauges and the machined dash? That's about as much unnecessary bling as a Hurst shifter. The Bullitt does have the better seats.
A Shelby adds both the cosmetic and performance mods and costs much more than a GT. And a GT/CS. And a Bullitt.
So . . . you are paying more and getting more (not just the appearance, not just the performance mods, but both). I'm not arguing about "value" for what you pay and getting into that silly argument.
By the way, Bullitt versus Shelby at the same price? I'd go Shelby, but only because CS is more of a car icon to me than Steve McQueen and I don't like the sleeper look. Oh yeah, the Shelby's stiff ride doesn't appeal to my wife, so no worries about her taking the car for groceries, either.

The Bullitt. It's emphasis is on balance as opposed to the Shelby GT's emphasis being on showcasing the Shelby name, its suspension upgrades and shifter are not exactly ideal for daily driving, their cosmetic quality and workmanship plainly stinks.

Sure ! you can buy from anywhere in the country, and perhaps get a better deal..However after you factor in freight, tax, shipping, and delivery costs..

True, shipping is an added cost, but I had my car transported diagonally across the country (SE to NW) and paid $1,300. That included the carrier's insurance - in other words, all inclusive price.
The lowest price for the model I could find within 500 miles (I literally looked and called a few dozen dealers) was still $4,000 more than I paid WITH shipping. I've seen enough posts about SGTs and GT500s being bought all over the place to be shipped out of state, so I don't think I'm an extraordinary case.
If you are being quoted $15k and $8k over, respectively, you can still buy anywhere in the country, pay for shipping, and still come out further ahead. And, at the same time, you can avoid feeling like you were gouged by that local dealer and hopefully you'll let 'em know they may earn your next car purchase with a more reasonable asking price.

It's always been Ford's track record, of allowing their greedy stealerships..to add ADM markups, well above MSRP..First it was the GT500, then the Shelby GT. in which the 8k for the Shelby package..are the very same performance and handling packages, that anyone can purchase from their Ford racing performance parts dealer..for far less than 8k..
So why all of a sudden, should the Bullitt be any different..The only real difference here is..It doesn't have the Shelby nameplate attached to it..
However, Ford was required to shell out royalties.. to both Warner Bros. and to the McQueen estate...Therefore I'm quite certain, that Ford will end up using this as their next excuse, in allowing their stealership's to add ADM markups once again..
That being said ! my apologies for sounding so skeptic, but until I see some real proof, this time around..
I won't believe it, until I actually see it.. with my own 2 eyes

TXBlueOval,
The Spring feature Mustangs were just a limited edition appearance & wheel package offered on the 2000 models. See the link http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/timeline/99-04/00/
The same was done in 1999 with the 35th anniversary SE's, just appearance packages.
As for the choice between the Bullitt and the Shelby GT, if I had to choose, I would go with the Bullitt just because of the DHG color. Truth be told if I were to buy an S197 I would go with a bare bones black GT.
Too bad Ford doesn't offer something similar to the GTS package anymore, that was a great base for a sleeper

"Freight, tax, shipping, and delivery costs" is the same as "shipping and the taxes on shipping."

Being that my car purchases, always includes trade-in's.. I really don't have much choice, but to deal either locally, or travel within driving distance..

Well I'll put it this way..not everyone has that option available to them, especially when it comes down to myself..

sell the car yourself or a through a cosignment dealer! if you do want wholesale pricing on your car just take it to a used car dealer...
you keep making excuses why you need to pay more money for the car you want. dont believe the garbage your local dealer tells you. they are in the business of lying. i worked for one for one day. sell the customer a car they dont want and make them more than they should for it. thats what they taught us!

Therefore, selling the car myself..Is out of the question, and I'm also not about to go even further in debt..by trading the car in, towards another one..with more than 2 years left, remaiming on my current one...
