Third Shelby Mustang: Shelby GT Joins GT-H and GT500!
Either way, don't expect this thing to be affordable. When the slimeball dealers get done with their greedy markups, only "rich collectors" will need apply - just like the GT500.
Where's the mid-range Mustang for the rest of us?
This will also kill the Hertz auction prices.

With few details, it's expected that the Shelby Mustang will be very similar to the limited edition Ford Shelby GT-H, a 335-horsepower Mustang that's available only as a rental at select Hertz locations
Did I miss something I didn't think the GT-H had that much horsepower I thought it was only 320.

New Shelby
I would be interested in buying if Ford could up the ponies to 350 HP. Even if they had to bump the MSRP one or two thousand above the current target MSRP. As stated, it does not sound near as appealing as the new 390HP Boss.
Personally, I'd rather order a GT and pick out my own color, wheel and trim levels and then add the Ford Racing Performance parts myself
$3K to $5K + ADMs for 20 more horses and the Shelby body kit is of questionable value.
That said, at least THIS car is actually being built by Shelby Automotive, which sort of makes it more of a "real" Shelby than the GT500, I suppose.

In essence, the in between performance between the GT and the GT500 is more than sufficient. What would be important would be if the Shelby GT matches the good looks of the GT500.
The GT-H looks great...
Although, if it had the Cobra engine in it.... and a 400hp rating...
I'd snap one up
But I guess that the Shelby GT will have vinyl stripes like the GT500 and not painted like the GT-H

Consider this when evaluating the new Shelby GT's rating of ONLY 320 - 335 hp. The original Shelby GT350 demonstrated a 35 hp improvement over the stock Hi-Po 289 in 1965 (306 for the Shelby, 271 for the Hi-Po 289) measured in gross HP, not SAE Net. Some quick math shows roughly a 13% increase in gross HP back in '65 and roughly a 12% increase in Net HP in '06 (assuming a 335 HP rating). Even at a lower 320 hp rating, we have a 6% increase in Net HP, certainly lower than the '65 gross number but still a respectable increase. In both cases, Shelby simply applied old fashioned hot rodding tricks to achieve modest gains. Either way, these are exciting times!!
Personally, I'm waiting for the new Boss!!
