I hope the wait is worth the delivery of your new ride my friend.

It will be. If I had gotten something sooner (I almost did on 4 separate occassions since Dec 06), I know I would have wished I had waited for this car. It's all good

Too bad I don't have it now so I could take it to Mustang Week this weekend.

AFBLUE (my 96GT) needs have some fun so I'll take her instead. She's getting up in years and miles. Getting ready to cross the 70,000 mark this week.

Update. AFBLUE (the 96GT) didn't make it to Mustangweek. Lost my drive belt in Emporia, VA. Towed it to Sadler Ford (owned by Elliott Sadler's dad), and continued on my merryway down to MustangWeek. Got her back the following week, and runs good as new.

As for my Vista Blue 08SGT order, my blend date is 6 Aug 07, and here is my Window Sticker (see pdf file at bottom of this post).

Based on the average time from Blend date to ship date, I would guess my car would ship out around 25 Aug and arrive at SAI around 4 Sep.

I'm hoping I'll get the SGT by end of October early November.

On the Shelby autos forum, there's a dealer named Michael Morris of Wayne Morris Ford, in Perry, GA (son of the owner). He was selling 07 SGTs for $500 over invoice and lots of folks on that forum had nothing but praise for working with him.
I have also found him great to work with and would recommend him to others interested in getting a SGT. He's sold roughly seven 07 SGTs, some GT-Hs (still has some for sale), and has got 2 orders in for the 08SGT.

I tried to work with my local dealer (same one that I ordered the 08 Mustang GT from), but they told me that the owners' policy is to sale SGTs at $5000 over MSRP; and that if I thought I could get a better deal elsewhere, then go get it.

So I did . To save me the 1250 mile round trip to GA and back, I'm working to get the car delivered from SAI, right to my home.

So what did Micheal Morris charge you for the 2008 SGT. I mean was it MSRP, under MSRP, Invoice ? Did you sign anything or just tell him you want one?

Ironically enough I was right down there this weekend... busy doing other things sadly so I didn't stop in to look at the new cars.

Just got an update from Michael that my car's invoice was prepared on 6 Aug, and the manufacture's statement of origin also says 6 Aug.

He told me the car is now built and should arrive in SAI in late Aug.

Doesn't really matter what I paid as each deal between a buyer and seller is unique.

I will say that my deal was ≥ Invoice and ≤ MSRP, and leave it at that.

Yes we have a signed agreement on the price.

SilverGT, Hope you get your's soon. I still got a 2-3 months to go, but I've made it this long, so what's ~70 more days?

Contact Michael if you haven't already done so. He's got two sold (mine and a convertible), but he may be able to get more.

Mark,

Have you thought about doing the museum delivery and picking it up directly from SAI?

I realize it would be costly and time consuming, but, it would be an experience of a lifetime. You likely won't have another channce like that.

Just my $0.02

Kevin

I was going to do just that. Planned to go out in September but was going to have it delivered to my home. However, the military has other plans for me during that period so I won't be able to go out there. I am still looking into the home delivery. That will save me a round trip to GA, and it will pretty cool to have the car unloaded right in front of my house

I will get out to do the museum tour eventually. I spoke with SAI-John today and must say it's fun to have such personal interaction with the folks building my car. I'm thinking about getting the lower grille/fog lights at their mod shop (see picture below).

Also considered getting the razor wheels but decided to hold off on that for now.

Mark, too bad about the "service interference." I remember well those kind of things.
I say go for the Razors and hope you can get front door delivery.
Got both of my Saleens delivered that way, makes for a big event in the neighborhood.

The reason I'm holding off on the razors is that I want to keep my original tires/ rims. If you get razors out there, they can fit maybe 1 tire in your trunk. So I'd probably have to pay to get the rest shipped to me.

Seems easier to just order the razors myself. Plus I may find a better deal on razors elsewhere.

Good point!

With my Saleens, I've always bought an extra set of wheels, later on from Saleen parts, for that "just in case" situation.

I'm curious about the dealers who hold out for big $$$ for an ADM - how many future customers do you think they earn versus the guy like Morris who sells for a reasonable price and ultimately in bigger numbers?
