Thanks Mark. They had me scared today so I went ahead and ordered to get a delivery date. Mine is guaranteed early September. I cant wait!!!!!!

 

Update: Went by my dealer today. They had asked Ford why my order had not been scheduled for production and Ford said it was because it was a retail order rather than a stock order and stock orders were being produced first.

So my dealership was nice enough to change my order status from a retail to a stock order. They said it is now scheduled to be built on or around 28 June with a late July or Aug delivery (got to factor in early Job1 quality checks).

 

I thought retail orders took precedence since it's actually a sold unit. Something doesn't sound right there. Make sure you keep tabs of the status yourself over at Blueovalforums.

 

Dealer said that Ford told them they are building stock orders 1st.


Question: When should I expect to have a VIN#? Job 1 is still over 4 weeks out (25 Jun), how do I find out if I have 1? Ask the dealer?

EDIT: Nevermind. Figured out how to get my vin#.

I know I'm going to catch a lot of crap for this but I just cancelled my order.

I want that Blue Shelby GT coupe with the Silver stripes. I was fine until I saw pix of the blue 08 convertible. I added up all the mods I had planned for my silver 08 GT and I was getting close to the Shelby GT price.

Flame away. I know I've got it coming.

So are you saying that since you are buying the Shelby instead, you won't need to mod it?

 

I will do minimal mods to it. Dynotune, tires/wheels, that about it. Plus I've already got an aftermarket hood that will look sweet on a Shelby GT.

Well congrats. I wondered what you would do, since I knew you already had the hood. Enjoy. Unfortunately, I can't afford the Shelby. I'll have to stick with my GT and slowly mod it.

Thanks guys. I figured I'd get flamed after some posts I made saying the Shelby GT was too expensive and had thought it through and decided I'd rather get a silver GT and mod it.

I meant it all, but seeing that Vista Blue Shelby GT changed everything. It was a purely emotional decision.

 

Hold up. From my understanding the Shelby GT's only come in White with silver stripes and black with silver stripes. Are they adding more colors for the 08 Shelby's? If so, what colors?

Congrats on the 2008 Shelby GT ! I saw a white 2007 in person at Hall Ford in Newport News VA. Awesome car but they wanted a $5000.oo mark up.

 

Here's a stupid question, but why don't you just get a Vista Blue GT and put silver stripes on it? You'd end up with more car for less money. I personally was going to go with Tungsten and do an Eleanor when I first decided to get a GT. Then I saw an SGT in the showroom and changed my mind. I ordered black and a set of BSM silver stripes. Of course I ended up doing a GT500 fascia and opted out of the stripes, but you get my point...
