Ive got a similar story... just "sold" my 65 ac-cobra replica... and they gave me a 82 ghia, 84 MEXICAN SVO, 85 hatch with t-tops and a 07 chevrolet chevy c2... anyways... today I got to drive a GT500 from my dealer (Ive got an order since 2006 for MSRP about 60,000 down here) and I luv it... BUT theres also a catch... Im still paying for my house... 1/2 paid 1/2 dont... and to get the money I would have to sale... this... 82 ghia, 84 MEXICAN SVO, 85 hatch with t-tops and a 07 chevrolet chevy c2 (the deal I just got)
, plus 2004 chevrolet colorado z71, plus (either one of them) lotus elise 111s or 70 mach 1... and I wouldnt have a daily driver... soooooooo... WHAT SHOULD I DO?? lol... 1 shelby? or 6 cars?...

It is a great deal. Where is the car? If you don't want it, I am a 100% buyer today. Thanks. Bill

Well, went down to the dealer today and placed my order. There is a catch though....
In order to get the GT-500, i must sell my project car which is a '65 Cobra Daytona Coupe. I can't afford both so decision time for me. If i opt out of the GT-500, no problem said the dealer.

If it was meant to be, the Coupe will sell.....if not, then i'll be building the Coupe and fulfilling my "other" dream.

I guess destiny takes over from here. Either way, i'm going to have a nice car when all is said and done.
What are the details on the Daytona coupe? Price and list of goodies and where the car is at please.

The Coupe is a Shell Valley body with a custom made tubular frame. It's got a 9" rear with 3.73's and it's set up for a Ford small block and Tremec trans. I have the original style knock-offs mounted to the car and it has disc brakes all around. I have alot of parts for the project but i can't afford to keep it if i decide to get the GT-500.

As for pics, i'll post them later.

.......Webb, if you're interested, PM me your email addy and i'll give you a complete breakdown plus a boat load of pics.

I just bought my GT500 from Spitzer Ford in Hartville, OH and they told me that they are marking up 8 to 10 on average.

I picked out some options and ordered the car in blue/white.

I'm still trying to sell the Daytona coupe. I still have some time to decide.

Im looking into buying one, but every dealer i call or walk into, they are asking like 15-20k over. THATS OUTRAGEOUS! I was even looking into some used 07's, but even there are in the 49-52k price range! Does anyone know if and where i can find a 07-08 GT500 for MSRP or CLOSE to MSRP?? I was hearing alot about dealers out in the midwest giving them away at sticker, but i dont know if its true or not. Any help is greatly appriciated!

I live in Iowa and I've heard similar MSRP "tails"---I'd take them with a grain of salt. I have a friend who bought a Shelby GT and was offered a 2008 GT500 at $5,000 over MSRP from the same dealer--this is the best I know of locally.

Guys,

You're not going to believe this but I just bought today, 11/14/07, a loaded '08 at MSRP!!! From what I've read, the selling price for this car two months ago was $25k over...... This dealer had enough sense to realize the prices of these cars is dropping drastically and the days of ADMs are coming to an end. I predict in another six months ADMs will be a thing of the past; at least for this model.
