will 2011 have the 5.0 for sure?? how sure?
I agree with Nick, if they want to compete with the V6, the 3.5 has to be in next year and you can't have the base with 260+hp and expect people to want to pay $7000 more for a V8 with only 315. I know they are completely different animals, but the performance won't be too far off. Unless they bump it up to 350 with the 4.6.
So if we don't hear anything about an upgraded v6 down the road, then i would start to get worried, but to compete they need to upgrade next year.(should have this year)

Hi, I work for FoMoCo, and after reading this thread, I have to tell you:
with the recent economic situation, you will be getting a lot of engine changes. remember the engine changes from 1971 to '72? remember the change from 73 to 74!?
yeah, it will be a little more like that.
hehehehehehe just kidding!

Say hello to the 2011 Mustang, folks >>

SO not funny.
What about the Bullit? Same engine as GT but different tune.
This is one of those topics...
While its most the same,
its the difference of 15-20hp between the 2...not exactly mind blowing.
They won't release the same engine with 50+ hp between the 2.
If so, who'd spend the money on the 400hp+ version when they can just tune the 350HP version to 400+
Get what I'm sayin?

Not to mention the amount of money they would have to burn to recertify basically the same engine through EPA and such. If Ford had cash to burn maybe, but in this current state of affairs I highly doubt it. I believe you are correct.

I gotcha. That makes sense. The EPA cert argument is a compelling one as well.
Wrong again. If you had been following these forums long enough you would know that there are several very knowledgeable individuals who frequently post here that know things on certain topics that they cannot, by legal agreement, reveal until Ford authorizes.
