will 2011 have the 5.0 for sure?? how sure?
we need to keep an eye on the next few auto shows coming up in early to mid 2009(detroit,chicago,NY)
I believe we can see some more info then.
i will be at the NY auto show at the javits center hoping to learn some new info

all we can do really is hope that it becomes standard, but no one really knows yet. all we can do is hope.
Like i said, we need to pay attention to the next batch of auto shows coming up in 2009 and hope to gain some info. we know ford is close with the eco-boost v6 but thats about it.
Ny auto show here i come!

i cant see them carrying both engines. and they will have to bump the HP in the V6 version if they hope to compete with the camaro and charger V6. 210 vs 306 aint gonna cut it. So I think the 5.0 will be there.
The fact is that nobody knows for sure at this point. It would be nice, but with the current economic troubles for Ford (and others), I wouldn't be surprised to see it squashed. I hope not, but you never know.
I agree with Nick, if they want to compete with the V6, the 3.5 has to be in next year and you can't have the base with 260+hp and expect people to want to pay $7000 more for a V8 with only 315. I know they are completely different animals, but the performance won't be too far off. Unless they bump it up to 350 with the 4.6.
So if we don't hear anything about an upgraded v6 down the road, then i would start to get worried, but to compete they need to upgrade next year.(should have this year)

I think there are two possible scenarios:
1.) The 4.6 stays for a while as the GT engine, while the 5.0 is introduced as a SE engine (Boss 302)
2.) The 4.6 is pulled and the 5.0 comes in two different versions/tunes. Maybe 350hp for the GT and 400hp for a Boss, Mach etc

Sounds completely plausible and logical! A+!
I am hoping for a Boss or Mach SE this year considering the Up-fitters package in CONCEPTS right now!?

Yes they do, they just can't say.
You won't see 2 tunes of the same engine in the same car.
Its probably not a SE per se if its not the regular engine, more the upfitters pack.
Meaning its not limited to a low ammount, serialized, nor marketted as such.

Hi, I work for FoMoCo, and after reading this thread, I have to tell you:
with the recent economic situation, you will be getting a lot of engine changes. remember the engine changes from 1971 to '72? remember the change from 73 to 74!?
yeah, it will be a little more like that.
hehehehehehe just kidding!
