2010-2014 Mustang Information on The S197 {GenII}

Why did you pick the 'Stang over the Camaro, Challenger, Genesis, G37, etc?

I would buy the G37 if I had the money. But the Mustang is second.

G35's and G37's are almost a dime a dozen around here as BMW 3 series.

That is true. Where I am (SoCal.. 30 min from LA), so are Mustangs. Also, Chrysler 300's on 22's and slammed Z's. None of them amount to the number of Prius's, though.

Starting to see a LOT of Camaros as well here in LA. 3 people at my work have all the SS and RS Camaros.

I thought about all those cars. The Challenger was too heavy, and poor on gas. Also too expensive since it's the SRT8 that compares with the Camaro and '11 Mustang. I wanted a 400hp Camaro that looked like the '69 model for years. It actually came out, and almost pulled the trigger. I was not happy with the weight and the cartoonish overdone styling. I test drove the Genesis, and was not that excited. I drove a G35 with a short throw shifter - didn't like that either. No sense in driving the G37. I need a back seat, so 370Z was out.

When the new engine came out in the Mustang, it was a no brainer. Lighter weight will always be faster with mods in the long run (budget allowing). Plus, the Mustang seems more likable by all as opposed to the more trashy image of the Camaro and Challenger (my wife's words - don't flame me as I love them also). I also love the exhaust sound so much more than the Camaro (but not the Challenger).

1. I have always bought an American V8 car.

2. They don't make Challengers or Camaros in convertible.

3. Even when they make Camaros in converttible I would not trust GM qulaity, having been burned by them too many time during the 80s

4. If they made the Challenger in convertible...........perhaps I would have pulled the trigger on that.

1) Camaro: I don't like the interior of the Camaro. I really REALLY hate it! I like the rest (exterior, wheels, engine). But it wasn't enough to make me want to get it to replace my stellar 2006 Accord V6. I really wouldn't have considered it - I wasn't shopping for a car.

2) Challenger: My 1993 Dodge Dakota cured me of ever having another Chryco product, altho I really like the looks of the Challenger's exterior.

3) Hyundai: Trying to find power steering hoses for my mother-in-law's Kia Optima cured me of ever THINKING about buying a Kia or Hyundai. Great value for $$, but no parts availability.

I wasn't really looking, but while waiting to pick up some relatives from the airport I stopped by a Ford dealer in Feb to look @ the 2010s and the salesman talked me into test driving a 2010 GT coupe with 401A and 3.73. I REALLY liked driving that car! Couldn't believe it could be had for $29,600 (X-Plan). I almost bought it then and there, but I felt it needed more power & mpg & heard the 5.0 was coming with a 6MT. The rest, as they say, is history.

I'd venture to say that, so far as horsepower is concerned, at least, we have never had it this good.

Drove the camaro hated the interior and it felt like I was driving out of a hole Thats the only way I can describe it, the windows are small in the camaro all around the car. The power was definitely there and there was an engine growl. I also liked the look, it had the old school look which I like.

The mustang interior I felt was roomy and i could see out of the car. The power,the growl and the pull were second to none, soon as I drove the car I knew I had to have it. I also like the look of the mustang, I like old school and it definitely has the old school look.

I test drove both cars on the same day so it was fresh in my mind what each one felt like, I thought there was no comparison and I used to be a chevy guy so you know my opinion isn't biased.
