You might like to look up the TSBs for the '03 Mach 1, '03 Cobra, '05 GT, and '07 GT500. Most issues for each model were corrected on the subsequent MY.

The last time a "good" 5.0 GT was introduced (1982), it took about 11 years for the demand to drop off and for Ford to offer an SE (1993 SVT Cobra). I hope we're not waiting until 2022 for a new age SE.
In Cdn if they do yearly "ford family pricing" (pay employee price) then ill buy the V6 as a daily driver...
If no special pricing then ill continue to drive the 91 taurus as daily driver...

Having said that, it's going to need a significant bump over the 5.0's 412 bhp to justify that. I'd like to think at least 450, but 475bhp would do nicely
My 05 is paid for but with the $$$ I have in mods, its power ratings (411 rwhp/303rwtrq) and my habit to keep'em forever and a day - got my sights set for a 50th Anniversary SE. Having said that - I think Ford is going one hell of a winner with this 5.0 GT and the 3.7 V6
Hmm..to much invested in my 08. With the body kit, side exhaust, suspension mods, and the Supercharger...naw I am good for now. Sure the 5.0 will very nice. But I will be holding on to my 08 for a while..Heh I still have to pay for it !
If it was bone stock.....maybe....but nope. I love her just the way she is. Still turning heads
All I need in my future is a big brake kit, and gt500 pumps.

This isn't the same Ford. Even back in 2005 things were different. Look at all the new Ford models being released lately...great reliability out of the gates. Yes, the 3V and TR3650...and even the TR6060 have had problems. Hmmm....wouldn't you think that if Ford is trying to solve those problems with a new engine and transmission (in a car that has otherwise already proven itself to be pretty reliable and of high initial quality), they would do everything possible to get it right this time out of the gates?
I used to believe in the whole avoid-first-model year mantra. Nowadays, it is a different Ford. So that being said, depending on the pricing with the options I want, I will be getting a 2011 5.0 with the MT, or I will pick up a 2010 and have the FRPP HO Whipple slapped on before I bring it home from the dealer. Either way I've waited long enough, and I have a good job to let me afford to get the car I've been waiting for all my life. I'm not waiting to 2012. Boss is cool, but I know it will be out of my price range, and I know that being the revival of the Boss 302, I wouldn't want to drive it. I'd want to save it. One day those guys with the first 500 or so VINs of the 2007 GT500s will be loving themselves for keeping the miles down. Those cars will be worth a lot one day.
I want to buy a Mustang and make it my own. If I got a Boss, the first year it's out (again) I wouldn't feel right modding it or putting miles on it. And being my first new car purchase, I'm not looking for a collector's car.

The 5.0 was just about Ford's only game in town 3 decades ago. There was no emphasis on SEs by Ford and mainly mom and pop tuners. Bring the likes of Roush into the picture, the public's product awareness, and there is a bit more competition based on performance in today's market.

My plan is a GT in '11. And a GT500/Cobra in the next generation
I have no plans of buying a 2011 right now. But these things can change. I don't know what my next Mustang will be or when it will be. I still love my '07 and I'm still modding it up though I only have a couple of more and then I'm done with it. Now I've got the '91 to fix up and then a '96 Bronco that's been sitting for a year to work on. Plus I am still planning on selling my F150 and getting a 6.2L Raptor in a couple of months. So as far as cars go, I've got 4 and don't really see where I could even put a fifth car. I'm already having to move to find more garage/shop space. So until I get rid of a car, I don't see a 2011+ in my future. Perhaps I can give the '91 to my oldest daughter in about 3 years and the Bronco to my other daughter and then I'll be able to add some more ponies to the stable.

on both points. That's my plan unless the Ford dealers play the ADM game with the Special Edition. If that's the case, my next car will be German.
