The Wait is OVER! The 2010 Mustang GT contest WINNER
As far as the placement goes... well, eprize once again failed in fairness. Sure, Kory had an advantage to get his story placed in the first spot. And of course my own story was the last spot, all alone on the right hand side of the screen. In fact, you couldn't even see my story unless you scrolled all the way to the right. Maybe I sound like I'm complaining, but I'm really not. I'm happy that "the soldier" won, but I think eprize could have designed a website that had a 5 x 5 grid showing all the stories on the screen. If not, then they certainly could have made the stories placement random and changed each day. The more I think about it, the more I realize just how poorly/unfairly eprize administered this contest.
As far as "social networks" are concerned, I'm personally grateful that the weenie from the 3.8 forums lost. It doesn't surprise me that a soldier beat him out. Do any of you guys really think that the voting was limited to message forum members? Doesn't anyone realize that the voting was open to ANYONE? The fact of the matter is that a soldier serving in Iraq will get sympathy votes, regardless of his story. Just for the record (and with no disrespect), I don't think Kory had the best story. In fact, I think there were three that were clearly better than his. But at the same time, once I had read all of the stories and looked at all the pictures, I knew that "the soldier" would be hard to beat.
Anyway, congrats again Kory. If I didn't win myself, I'm certainly glad that you did.

Actually, he did. Didn't you see the thread where he said to the other members here "you HAVE to vote for me"?
Any there's nothing wrong with doing that... anyone would have done the same thing. But lets keep the facts straight.
Absolutely Awesome!!! Congrats Kory. I posted the story on our home page at BadMustangsClub.com this morning and had no idea you were a member here.
I'm adding a link to this thread as well. Congratulations again!!!

I'm glad so many people are taking this maturely. Sure, there are those out there whose jealousy know no bounds and are itching for an opportunity to tell me their thoughts and feelings. Don't get me wrong, I'm more than open to accepting those thoughts and feelings. Some are fuller of jealousy and anger than others.
When it's all said and done, someone had to win. It's a contest. Not a guarantee.

Nice write up Kory. But you shouldn’t feel the need to “justify” winning this contest. Everyone submitted “their story” to this contest. As far as the “best story” is concerned, it is open to interpretation. Obviously more people interpreted your story as the best….that’s it, end of story. Congrats, this has to be unbelievable for you and I can't wait to see the pics!

I really appreciate the compliments regarding my character. It means a lot coming from fellow enthusiasts.
Not sure how I got dragged into this again and called a "weenie" of all things, but I said my piece several pages ago and will say it again. Congratulations on the new car, it's obviously going to a good home. I'm really glad an enthusiastic non-mustang owner got the car and not somebody looking to add a third or fourth to the stable.
Certainly no hard feelings here.

Please don't do that. There's absolutely no reason to take anything away from the guy for playing the game and winning.
He won, he's deserving, he's happy, it's over.
