I'm sure they'll make an exception and still award the rest of the prize if he can't make the trip. From Ford's point of view he's a marketing wet dream and they're certainly not going to put themselves in the position of denying a soldier a new Mustang because he couldn't leave Iraq to attend an auto show in LA. Wow. Thanks EVERYBODY. I can't stop smiling as I read these posts. You all mean a lot to me as TMS has been my crutch to get me trough this deployment.

My CO is working with me to get me home for the reveal. Unfortunately, one of my best friends has to take my seat, which leave three weeks later so that I may go. It was the most unselfish thing he has ever done for me.

Again, I'm so excited that I can't stop smiling and it's ALWAYS on my mind. Thank you all for your generous words and offers. I can't wait to get back home to sweet sweet America.

I won't do you wrong either. My Mustang (eewww, that's weird) will be the best kept thing since The Declaration of Independence!

Well, it looks like it will be a non-issue because he'll probably be able to attend. But if for some reason he cannot attend, I highly doubt they would make an exception for him. Common sense should tell you that the rules are the rules and they must be followed. If they print the rules and don't abide by them, they do nothing but open themselves up to a big fat lawsuit. Like I said, it doesn't matter because it seems that he'll be in LA on time, I hope.

Imagine the bad press they'd get if they didn't follow their own rules and denied an alternate winner if the first winner couldn't make it to LA.

Actually, let me just say this for the record. If for some reason he can't make it to LA and it turns out that I am the alternate winner, I'll give him the car. Seriously. I think he deserves it and it would suck to lose out because he's serving in Iraq.

Lets just hope that he gets his early leave and doesn't have to even worry about it.
