I'm surprised he kept the stock gearing.

Now you're askin' for it!

But yes, you want to improve the rear end. Whatever 3.73's are with the 6 spd.

Just get the GT500 with the SVT PP and get it over with. What's another $400 a month?

No. I want all the mpg I can get with the reduced fuel efficiency of the V8. The 2010 GT I drove had 3.31 rears and the acceleration kicked my ***. I'm sure with 80 more lb/ft of torque the 3.31's are just fine!

The OP made a good decision. If he went through with the purchase of the 6 he would never have been totally happy with it. Good call.

he should just get 373s and the 19" bullitts--the all seasons are more useful for everyday driving

I'd consider the comfort package. The power passenger seat comes in handy.

Add the EP too. That way you'll have the NAV in case you ever decide where you want to go.

I'm happy for you on ordering your Mustang.

So many Mustang 'haters' on a Mustang forum. I know a lot of people feel if the Mustang doesn't have a V-8, its not a Mustang. I've noticed it also on Camaro5, if its not a V-8, its not a Camaro. My first 3 new Mustangs in my past were 4 cylinders with 4 speed manual transmissions LOL!!! I had so much fun with them. Then in 1986 i bought a new Mustang with a 3.8L automatic. I liked it also and had fun with it too. That was my last Mustang, young children, needed more room, etc.

Now the children are grown and on their own. The Mustang is the perfect size for me, with the new Engines and new transmissions i had to get one. I went with the V-6 and automatic (bad left leg). I just don't need 412 horsepower, 305 horsepower is just right for me. Also you just never know where gas prices are going to be in the near future.

Maybe in the near future, Brad (site owner) will give us 2011 Mustang owners with the girlish V-6 our own section, so we can pretend to be Men, and have discussions about our everyday experiences with our V-6 Mustangs without being afraid.

Think it through really hard and decide what you really must have. if you had never looked at the option book what would you have to have....

For most people:
GT Premium
MSRP $33695 (Includes Destination)
Invoice 31646.60 (Includes Holdback, FDAF/LMDA, Fuel Charge and Destination)

Optional (If you must have a little bling)
Polished 18" Aluminum Wheels (Same as 2010. Polished Version of MCA Wheel)
MSRP $495
Invoice $431 (Includes Holdback)

PS A Base Gear (3.31) and Tire (18" All-Seasons) car just went 12.77 at Atco,

I am probably more confused myself now more than ever. I had initially thought 3.73 gears were a must have. I have read all the gear threads which made it worse. Gas mileage matters to me also.

From looking at the window stickers there seems to be no difference in the ratings no matter what gear is chosen. I just wonder in the real world what if any a person would notice? I am no drag racer but I have had cars before that were geared to high and I will never made that mistake again. I guess I will sit tight and listen for the reviews from other owners in the future.

If indeed you are looking at window stickers, the gas mileages will all be the same. The window sticker statistics are of the base car, not the options.
