Sync bluetooth connection problem
Over the weekend while driving, Sync randomly dropped connection with my phone via bluetooth. This has happened in the past but previously after a minute or a couple, it'll reconnect. This time, it has not been able to reconnect with my phone. I have tried deleting all bluetooth devices and doing a master reset several times, to no avail.
Sync no longer shows up on my phone as a bluetooth device available to connect to. This is definitely not the phone's issue as Sync doesn't show up in any other phone I've tried to connect either. When I select "Add bluetooth device" on Sync and then it tells me to hit Ok to "Find Sync," I repeatedly get the message that "pairing failed." I have a bad feeling that the bluetooth in the car is caput.
Anyone else experience this problem before?

Nope, haven't had that happen. Disconnecting the negative battery wire of your car for 15 minutes would reset the system to see if that helps, perhaps.

Have you checked to see if there is a software update available?

Thanks, guys. I will try the fuse pull after I get home from work. I did something similar once before when Sync was having Pandora problems, and I am loath to do it again because opening up that panel was a bit of a pain.
Yup, was next thing I looked for after master resetting didn't work.

I seem to recall some folks may have spliced into the wiring and done just that at some point. I'm too lazy to search for it though, and I do not recall them posting detailed instructions on how they did it.
Ideally, it you could feed the fuse from a keyed source instead of an always on source, you'd be good to go.

Maybe this is gonna be an annual summer thing for me. The last time I did the fuse pull was last summer.

I used to have problems with my cell syncing Pandora with my car. I used to do the pull the fuse trick and that would work for about a month. Then I thought maybe it was my cell. I had an antivirus app on my cell. I uninstalled the app and now I haven't had any problems at all in six months. Instead of thinking it's always the car causing the problem look to see if it might be an app on your cell blocking it from connecting.

Yes. The same thing happened to my 2015 Mustang ecoboost. Hold the power button and Next button together for 3 seconds. Screen will say SYNC reset transmitted. Fixes the issue instant. Credit to this guy:

Permanent solution to the Sync Bluetooth problem?
Has anyone found a permanent solution to the Sync Bluetooth connection issue? I tried too many times removing the fuse but it not always work and it helps with the phone calls only, not with playing music from my phone. I can’t play music from my phone vía Bluetooth nor USB connector.
