2010 Mustang GT Radio plays static
2010 Mustang GT Radio plays static
Hey guys,
I have a 2010 Mustang Gt with the shaker 500 system and I think gen 1 sync. About 2 winters ago my sync stopped working, when I turned the radio on it would play static through the speakers, and would become unresponsive to input changes (switching to bluetooth audio and aux and such) and sync voice commands would not function. The compass no longer works properly either, when it does display a direction (usually just displays --) it only displays north.
any tips or advice?

I think there might be more than one fuse for the Shaker/Sync system; so it is possible that one of them is burnt out and the other one is not; which might explain why parts of it work but parts don't ... I'd check the manual and check ALL of the related the fuses
Other than that, I got nuthin' .... except "I guess it's broken"

It's doing a new trick though where it won't even power on for longer than a few seconds before it shuts itself off, then it loops like that until I turn the car off
I guess I'll try throwing money at it now 😅

The earlier Shaker units were known to be a bit flaky, but my 2010 has been pretty good ... if no obvious/easy repair, "simple" solution might be to replace the unit with something aftermarket ... check the Audio section for suggestions on that
