SYNC Text Messaging: Android Phones?

Hey guys, what Android phones have you successfully used with the SYNC text messaging feature?

I bought the AT&T HTC One X last week, but after several factory resets of both the phone and SYNC, every incoming text message comes through as FROM me. Because of that, I can't really know who sent the message and attempting to reply through SYNC just goes back into my text inbox. Has anyone else seen this issue?

My Droid x worked great with sync. So far everything with my new Droid Razr Maxx works perfect.

Ive never gotten my HTC Evo 3D to work. I have heard that if you root your phone you can add something to the firmware to make it work, but I have been lazy. I guess Motorola phones usually work tho.

I ended up concluding that it's a bug in the HTC One X's Bluetooth stack. I submitted a bug report to HTC and switched back to my old iPhone for now. Maybe I'll try the galaxy S3 when it comes out.

Ok that didn't sound like English to me lol

So an HTC Evo shift wouldn't sync with sync?

Hey everyone -

I know Tron84 already mentioned it, but I just wanted to jump in and and confirm that the new RAZR MAXX works with the text messaging feature. If only I were eligible for an upgrade! LOL

xda developers has custom roms for most phones. I know they had someone make some that had that Bluetooth stacks included. Motorola happens to make the most compatible phones with sync. I'm a geek so this is English to me

A salesman told me that there isn't speech-to-text messaging? Only options for 10 preset messages. Is this true?

I have an iPhone so it's not going to work anyway but I was just wondering.

Hi, SpiderX1016.

You're right about not being able to utilize this feature with the iPhone, but with a compatible device you can send one of the predefined messages below.

• Can’t talk right now
• Call me
• Call you later
• Yes
• Be there in 20 minutes
• Why?
• No
• Where R you?
• Thanks
• I love you
• I need more directions
• Can’t wait to see you
• Too funny
• Be there in 10 minutes
• I’m stuck in traffic

Instructions for sending these can be found in your SYNC supplement manual:

http://owner.ford.com/servlet/Conten.../Page/HomePage

Let me know if you have any questions.

Jaclyn

It would have been nice if that link actually took me to the manual. I can't find it with that link. But thanks for the effort.
