Over the past 4-5 years most of the mustangs I have owned have been garage queens, and have sold all of them. Maybe I neeed to just driver more?
I hear 'ya, just like you i'm so darn busy with everything else that i don't get to drive her like i would like to, but when i do, i have a ball.

I am on track for 6000 to 6500 miles per year. I've pretty much stopped driving the Mustang to work (not much joy) unless it's sunny & Friday, but will drive it any other time it isn't raining.

Unless, like this week, I am without my DD (getting some work done on it), and so the Mustang is pressed into DD duty and OF COURSE it has to be a rainy week. Oh well, at least i've avoided scraping up the chin spoiler on various obstacles on my commute and I've also avoided deer (so far).

Those who drive the pee out of your Mustang: I salute you. I totally understand - it is SUCH an awesome car to drive.

LOL shouldn't the "smilie" in your post be of a car with cob webs between it and the road instead of a guy happily driving and shifting?

Cars are meant to be driven. I used to be scared to get a spec of dust on my cars. Now I actually enjoy them. 10,500 miles first year. 12' 5.0

Daily driver here. I have no desire to own a stationary sterile art object... I need the constant interaction of man and machine.

Same for me.

Doesn't mean this is what you should do. For al and I, we bought our ponies to enjoy without having the need to drive it everyday. Whatever floats your boat. I have daily drivers for winter and other adverse driving conditions.

I have a company car that is my daily driver (less than 1 year old w/25k miles) so my Mustangs have always been my week-end enjoyment cars. I managed to still put 26k miles on my 2010 Grabber Blue in its first year and 7300 on the Boss 302 in its first year. I was over paranoid with the Boss and I don't think I'll be this way with the new 2013.

Same here, don't need to drive it to enjoy it, have a daily driver that's great on gas and am lucky as I work Mon-Thurs with Fridays off and telecommute every day but Tuesday. I figured this could be my last new fun car so i want it to last as long as possible. Not quite 1,200 miles on it after getting it last October 28th, but i get joy even just parking it on an angle in the garage, cleaning it up while listening to some tunes and then having a drink while i look at it...my neighbors probably think I am weird and I know my wife does!!! And maybe I am....but as long as it makes me happy I don't care what they think!!!

I want my 5.0 to be in wonderful condition in 20 years. Which is why I Painted the underside and coated her so it wouldn't rust. Any preventative measures to protect as much as possible against wear I have taken. I want he to be a show car. I plan on taking her to shows with my son in 20 years. This is why I drive her once a month. I do not drive her in inclement weather at all. My fathers 71 gto was never driven except to a show, his 68 camero was the same. I bought he for long term, not to trade her in like so many ppl do with their autos. I don trade cars because it's the dumbest financial move to make with an automobile,...unless that is if you just want the next best thing or don't care about negative equity. BUT if you get an awesome deal with minimal interest than you can come out on top. If I couldn't afford three vehicles then I would have a Prius as a daily driver,...not a 5.0.

that all sounds boring. these cars will never be like the valued 1960s and 1970s cars. todays cars are made be used in all weather and made to be wrecked and repaired.

Which is why I would never buy a used Mustang!!! There is a big difference between "getting on it" and "beating the crap out of it"....
