Storage or daily driver

Do you drive your mustang everyday or once in awhile? My 5.0 is 6 months old and has 400 miles on her. I drive her maybe once every two weeks otherwise she's in the garage. Just curious to see how many of you daily drive yours. I couldn't do it every day, I'd be too afraid of a scratch or a rock chip or something.

It is a car....I drive mine.....14,500 in 17 months. I also have driven all 4 restored 66's I had in the past. To me, the enjoyment is in owning and driving....not just sitting in the shed and staring at them.

Well, that's a terrific way to own a mustang, afraid to drive it.

Mine is a 2011 and has just over 25k on it. I bought it 8 months ago and have put 14,000 on it in that time. It works great as a daily driver, and I can't afford multiple cars yet...so that's what I do. There's plenty of guys daily driving them, plenty doing what you do, and plenty in between somewhere.

Drive mine almost everyday except in the winter. Got the first rock chip last week, sucks, but it's gonna happen and it can be fixed!

Nothing yet, probably gonna try and get some touch up and fix it. Really need to get some time to give her a good bath too. That crap still pisses me off too.

You would be better off to SELL your Mustang, go to an art gallery and put the art you bought on the walls of your favorite room. You would still have some dollars left over for numerous wine & cheese parties to display your art to friends, neighbors and acquantances.
This would be more social than just staring at your car on Friday nights with a six pack of suds worrying that it might get scratched.

I don't care for beer so this won't work for me. You sound a bit perturbed, I could be wrong. Why would I sell her? Because I drive her less than 200 miles a month? I have my TL to drive everyday due to its ability to get 25 mpg. This was more I a long term vehicle. I'll finish the mods soon and then my son will take over the car when I pass,...I'm 28 so that will be a long time away I hope. On Friday nights I'm out with the wife, not staring at a car in a garage.

Do what you are comfortable with, it's your car, and your money. Enjoy it how you see it fit.

I just got my 2013 vert, and it's my daily driver. And to be honest, ive had it a week , and only have 250 Kms ....it's killing me to drive it....I don't know why, but I know how you feel.

Imagine, I have to put snows on this in 7 months....and I can't even drive it in the rain yet

Daily driven. If I wanted to drive it once a week I would just go to dealerships for test drives and save myself the money.

Mind if I ask what your monthly payment and insurance cost is?

Daily driven 12 sixxer. Bought it on September 17th 2011 and currently has 11500. For me the pleasure is in driving it and enjoying it the way Ford and my inner gearhead intend. I worry about rock chips and scratches but they can be fixed when they happen. Its inevitable. Plus i keep her very well maintained so shell be looking and running new for years to come

I've a second vehicle and am w/in 5 miles of work but I drive the snot out of mine because I enjoy it so much. Awesome roads in every direction.

9K miles in the first 9 weeks (one 5400 mile road trip), 15K in the first 5 months. The winter slop slowed me down a bit, but just rolled 19K in the first 11 months. Wore a pair of 275/40-18 PZeroNeros (on 10" American Muscle OE Style rims) on the rear down to the wear bars and replaced at 17.5K.

400 miles in 6 months...I have to wonder what you're saving it for...but I'm close to turning 53 and have been realizing how short life is.

Clear bra as soon as I got it, excellent investment. I keep it clean and shiney but don't worry about the road wear at all. Touch up, re-seal, wax...I spend my time behind the wheel, that's where all the fun's at. Bug guts kinda gets irritating...wash it often in the summer.
