I'm guessing the communication is all via CAN. That way Ford could set up arbitration ID's for each of the parameters and the frequency would be fast enough to provide a real-time readout for the driver.

You may already have the wiring in place to run the apps; I don't know if the ECU or other peripherals are identical for a base and Premium car. If so, then it might just be a matter of a cluster and a wheel swap.

That i think is the biggest question for 2013 owners ... for 2010-2012 owners though I have a feeling it will be a way more involved swap with a lot of wiring and pulling the dash apart.

I've already talked to several people at Ford regarding a 2010-2012 swap, and that's **** near impossible. That's why I've basically given up investing time to do it. If someone wants to take up the challenge, then by all means go for it. I'm working on the rear swap options right now and procuring the parts to switch mine over here soon.

If you don't mind me asking could you give me someone to talk to or an idea of where to look to see if this is a viable option for base 2013 owners?

Sweet!! I saw you had the wiring of the taillights all figured out. Other than that it seems like a fairly easy swap.

I would like to retrofit the GT500 rear brakes (13" instead of 11.8").
Any idea on Part numbers and pricing?
Thanks,

LEXiiON

It's a big job. You have to pull the axle shafts to get access to the caliper brackets. I don't have part numbers, but the calipers are the same. You just need the rotors and brackets to fit, and maybe slightly longer brake lines.

I have a 2011 GT and I'll be swapping a 2010-2013 GT500 bumper on as well as the 2013 upper and lower grilles in the next few weeks. I'll post up what I find. I got the hood already and I'll be buying the bumper from the dealer shortly.

i'm in the same boat as you; however, i'm waiting for prices to cool off a little bit. keep us in the loop of your process. i'd love to see how much work/money goes into the conversion. the biggest factors are the rear bumper and tail lights. rear decklid isn't so much of a concern for me.

thanks for this thread btw.

I already found the 4 brackets and there radiator deflector plastics are different as well. I'm going to try to do it as complete as possible. Basically just going to go to the dealer, pull up a 2013 vin, and buy everything on the front end that has a different part number than a 2011 GT. Also going to buy the 2013 upper and lower grilles because I have a turbo kit going in soon and i want as much airflow to the FMIC as possible.

I'm hoping to make some progress soon. Still waiting on prices at the moment.

I just don't care for people putting Cobra badges on non-SVT products, that's all. If you're not planning on that, then go ahead! I love the look, just want to see the right badge on the right car.

curious to see how this works out because I'd love to do GT500 rear bumper and taillights on mine. Would swap out the lower valance to a GT/CS or Boss 302 to avoid dual exhaust openings.

Trust me, that's a HUGE issue of mine as well. I WISH I could avoid that altogether. That's actually a big reason why I didn't want to do the 10-12 gt500 front end because the snake cannot be removed. I was hoping the 2013 would allow me that but after seeing this pic, I'm still screwed. I'll have to just paint it black with plasti dip. I love the front end and I have a turbo kit going in at the same time and i wanted the more open front end for the FMIC. Should be ordering the front bumper, grilles, brackets and radiator cooling pieces by friday.

I'd have to think a pony tribar would cover pretty much any of the Cobra mounting points...

Just saw a 2013 head light for sale on eBay..

Seller claims that it fits all 2010-13 models.. can anyone confirm?

The shape looks very similar to the halogen head lamps.

For those that want the 2013 gt500 style grille but not that emblem cdc is making a grille just like it without the emblem molded in for all 2013s.
