True statement here. I ordered on 3/20 and have a delivery ETA of 4/19 (for now). Just over 4 weeks. Now mind I live right up the road (45 min or so) from the plant and the dealer I ordered from is the largest in Michigan so those are also probably variables in the equation.

I'm happy with the order time 3/15, looking to be build before 4/16 to the dealer by 4/26...just need the weather to kick into gear.

I thought about blue, and I love the DIB, but the previous 08 Shelby GT I had was a similar blue with silver striping. I loved it but wanted something different. I thought about race red but that color is pretty common around here, and it's just a shade too bright for me. Thought about the new red candy and just couldn't make myself like it enough. White would have looked awesome if I could have gotten dark blue stripes, but the grabber blue just doesn't grab me. Besides it was the one color my wife was adamant about not getting (the grabber blue, not the white). So my options were silver, sterling grey and black. She complained up one side and down the other about the sterling grey looking too much like primer, and didn't like any of the stripe colors on the silver. Originally I had focused on black with red stripes, and in the end that's where we ended up. I'm happy with it, I know it's harder to keep a black car clean but in my mind, this GT500 just looks so much better in black than it does in anything else. The Mustang commercial with the black GT500 at the end certainly helped. Once that was decided, the red stripes were a given.

Edit: I'll be waiting a minimum of 3 months, probably longer, to take delivery. The way I look at it is that I've waited my whole life for the perfect car. I love the S197 style and am unsure enough about what the redesign is going to look like that getting the S197 style was an easy choice. The GT500 has always been at the top of my 'gotta-have' list of things. There has never been a better, more powerful version, and while there may be a better one yet down the road, this one is close enough to perfect for me. So, what's a few months more? To me, it feels like it's going to happen tomorrow, because I've been waiting years. Knowing that the order has been accepted by Ford and it's just a matter of time now is an incredibly exciting thing to me. Hell, the wait will make taking delivery that much more enjoyable.
You are going to love it. In my opinion (and I'm doing SG on my GT for reference), black is the only color for the GT500. Something like Grabber Blue, you might run the risk of getting tired of (and the GT500, especially the 2013, is a keep forever/might be worth something someday kind of car) - but black is timeless, and super mean on the Shelby.

Hope to see a bunch of pics when she arrives. Congrats, sounds like you've earned it.

Thanks, I have certainly sacrificed other wishes for years so I could put myself in this car. I will have tons of pictures.

We ordered our '10 in November, the weather kicked us in the butt. It snowed at the plant, and they couldn't get the cars out of the lot for 2 weeks. Man, was that car filthy buy the time it got to the dealer.
