Do you consider the 69-70 Mach 1 and Boss cars fastbacks?

Do I consider the 69-70 Mach 1, and Boss 302/429 as full fastbacks...Yes without a doubt..

In fact.. both the 69 and 70 models, were not only true fastbacks..But they also became known, as the sportsroof..

The sportsroof also continued on the 71-73 Mustang fastback.

However I personally didn't care for the 71-73's, as their rooflines became too flat..In which it was nearly impossible to see through the rear view glass..I always referred to these Mustangs, as the flatback lol.

I also didn't care much for their size either, as they became too large for my tastes..

Good for you, I was gonna try to get you on the sports roof! I guess to me it's just a matter of opinion but I feel that a 2+2, fastback and sports roof are all the same thing. The 65-66 2+2s are the fastbacks of their bodystyle. Though I like the look of the true 67-68 i'm glad they stuck to the 65-66 because I dont know how well the 67' style would gel with modern styling.

Then again the one thing of the 05' I was not a fan of was the back end. I hope the next gen looks like the back of the 69' with the tail lights being three seperate lamps and the actual tail light panel with a slight curviture like 67-69'

I agree completely. I'll be interested in seeing what changes are in store for the rear-end. Again, I'd be happy if it looked like a modern iteration of the '67-'68 style, but the '69 looks good too.

Well yes, I fully agree the 65-66 2+2 and the current 05, are definitely fastbacks of their bodystyle..Their just not what I consider, a full complete fastback..

Although I've always prefered the styling of the true 67-68 fastback design.. your also right, when concerning how well 67 styling would gel with the modern design, of the 05..

In order for a full fastback to look right, Ford would need to move the A-pillar posts forward, similar to the 67's roofline..Then the roof itself, would also need a flatter angle, before sloping into the trunk/rear of the car..

Otherwise, the car's roofline would be way too flat..And would look more like the 71-73 flatback, than anything else..

And yes, that big J-Lo butt.. has also got to go..

most of the photoshop pics I've seen reminds me more of the 71-73 sportsroofs, but then again I've always preferred the 65-66 fastbacks

Speaking of photoshop ... I sure do wish somebody would photoshop the former and current body styles in a SPRINT theme (red, white, blue) like the 72 Mustang SPRINTS had.

I don't know how to do that. I'd love to see how it turns out.

I sure wish you'd e-mail this to the FORD DESIGN CLUB and rattle their cages with this idea. I think this package would look SOOO COOL ~ !!!

Was this done by Ford, another company, or by an individual on their own car?

I wish Ford would offer this package. I think it would also look good with the current GT/CS body effects.
