New 2010 GT Interior Spy Shots
To be frank, I didn't realize how close the new interior looks to that of the old '67-'68s. The rectangular AC vents suddenly make a little more sense. I like that Ford is going in that direction. I still wish the guage faces were black though...
I'm longing to finally get some good uncamoed pics of the exterior and well as definative confirmation as to whether the 5.0 will be in the 2010 or not. I know the rumors are leaning toward the 2011, but still...

The speaker grille in the current s197 looks like a plastic garbage can lid, - it hope this new chrome one is much nicer.
Hopefully the production cars get some decent gauges this time..
Would you rather have black and grey plastic? I think the metal accents make it look more like the original Mustangs ( and most other cars of that period ) instead of the cheap plastic moulded stuff in all of today's cars- looks like my kid's playskool toys...

As for the vent rings, they just pop off, I think. Not sure about the cluster. I'd suggest getting a set of Bullitt or Shelby ones, which have a more satin, brushed look:
Well, I guess to each his own. But considering the massive amount of 2005-08 Mustangs sold with the metal accents, most people want something to break up the black plastic. May I ask what interiors you do like?

I do think I'm alone on this one haha.
Good idea on the GT500 bezels, I didn't even think of that.
After driving my '98 Mustang for years which had absolutely NO metal accents at all in the interior, the S197's interior was a real upgrade for me. The chrome and aluminum trim looks more substantial and they remind me of the interiors of '60's cars.
After looking at all those pics and reading the page properly, theres a couple things I don't get. Apparently the photographers were lucky enough to find a tester parked to take these interior pics (so it says) so why the hell did they only take 2 half assed pics? If that was me and there was a prototype Mustang sitting in a parking lot I can tell you the first thing I would do would be to take a close up of the shifter to show if its a 6 speed and second, crawl behind the the **** thing and take a picture of the rear end! I would also take more than two friggin pictures!
Either these "professional spy photographers" are complete morons, or there is something else going on.
Maybe its just me getting impatient but seriously! Doesn't it seem a little weird?
Oh yeah, and my other favorite thing about the pics...just put a piece of tape over the pony on the steering wheel...that'll trick them!

I agree- could be a pre-emptive strike. Feed a little "scarce" information to the general public making them think they are privey to something special just in case someone is even THINKING about a Camaro/Challenger purchase.
As far as the speedo to 120 - how do you know the ECU doesn't limit the V8 speeds in 2010?
You won't have gas to go faster then that......
Because even if the car can't actually go that fast, it has to look like it can. Look at the focus which had/has a 140 MPH speedo, despite the fact that it won't even get to 120.
I've got to be honest. I don't like the Camaro interior. It has GM written all over it. This is the evolution of every GM I've ever had including 2002 Suburban and 1992 Chevy pickup. They love rounded corners, that is just like every Chevy steering wheel I've seen, and they love grey. Lots and lots of grey. This would depress me.
I think once again the interior is lost in translation from the concept car.

I just got my car back from the body shop for the hail damage repair. I spent the early afternoon cleaning all the body shop dust out of every nook and cranny I could find. Anyway, I really like my round gauges and vents the way they are.
There is a better picture of the Camaro interior somewhere that is more finished, but I still hate it... I thought all those organic rounded nodular looking designs when out with the 1990's...
Is that what that picture is in post #94? The Camaro interior?!?! That looks horrible!
