^^^ This ^^^

I can't believe we as grown adults can't just learn to ignore the comments we don't choose to want to read. Some sights have filters that you can block / hide all comments by certain members that we select. Check with a mod and see if the ability exist on this site, if it does..do it....that we way we don't have to wade thru the STUPID comments and personal digs being thrown around by both sides. GROW THE *** UP!!

Hello Members!!

As you already know, if you need help with any concern your vehicle is experiencing, please make an appointment with your Ford dealer. Then private message me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, and contact info so I can escalate it.

Deysha, have they fixed the problem with the MT-82. Thought you could tell me rather than me spend an hour reading the blog. Thanks

Hello erniemc,

There’s no one way to answer this question, as many have had different experiences with their vehicles. However, if you’re experiencing any concerns with your vehicle, please bring it in to your dealer. Also, PM our FordServiceCA Rep on this forum with your VIN, dealer, odometer reading, full name, and best daytime number for assistance if needed.

Bringing a thread back from the dead! I would say the answer is basically yes. Guys after max performance are still upgrading to the MGW replacement shifter or the Blowfish, Steeda or other brackets but the amount of complaints and talk about it is pretty much over IMO.

Ford has certainly made improvements in the MT82 since 2011. The only thing I can complain about in mine is random notch-iness. And that's more of a shifter issue than tranny itself. I have missed a few upshifts at the track, but since then I slapped a Barton shifter bracket on it, and haven't had any issues since.

Now on those rare occasions I do miss a gear up shifting or during a heal-and-toe downshift is because I made a mistake. My MT82 had been pretty solid.

I brought mine dealership ship & explained that , I was experiencing the car dying whenever I shut car off then tried to restart it after a minute or two it would die when I mashed the throttle and would hve to pump it too rev it up in order to move car. The mechanic told me he didn't experience it, which was BS . I bought 7 vehicles from this dealership, don't think I will buy there again.

I’m happy to get this escalated for you, SMOKE46. Make an appointment with a Ford Dealer of your choice for diagnosis as soon as possible. Then, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number, and I’ll loop in the customer service manager for your area.

To answer your question no Ford didn't do anything to fix the mt82. Google it see how many complaints are posted since this thread was created in 2011. No recall.

I took mine to the dealer 2 weeks ago and was told the usual nonsense of cannot recreate issue, yet every time I drive the car I miss shift or experience lock out at normal driving.

As for the aftermarket fixing fords mess, it is hit and miss, Ive read people that have the mgw shifter, blowfish bracket, whiteline bushing, uprated brake cable and royal purple syncromesh yet still having the same problems.

Never had any issues with my gearbox. From the problems most others seem to have, it seems like a clutch and/or shifter issue moreso then the gearbox.

A little update on the MT-82 issue

Same no problem taking it to redline it hasn't locked me out yet, but I only have 19000 miles. It's a little stiff when I first stat driving but the clears up after it warms up
