After searching all the local dealers this morning for 10s and after seeing a 5.0 vert that I couldn't keep my eye off of, I've pretty much decided to order a 11GT and get what I truly want. When I asked about ordering one they told me it would be $2k non-refundable deposit I left there called another dealer and asked for the sales manager and he told me he would be willing to do the order without a deposit, so it was easy to tell who wanted my business. It's not that I have a problem with putting down a deposit but $2k seems excessive for a car I may not receive for 3 months or more, or maybe it seems high since this is my first experience with ordering a car and only my second time buying a new car.

You shouldn't have to put down anything to order...

True, it's not like they'd have a problem selling a new 5.0 if you were to back out for some reason.

Exactly why I felt $2k was just wrong. The dealer that I called has a MCA 11V6 that has caught mine and my dad's attention so to assure myself that I can't live without the V8.
