How do you feel about your '10-'14 after the reveal of the S550?

The ECOBOOST I4 is being positioned between the Base V6 and the GT as far as HP and TQ go ... the V6 will still be base car with Base HP.
As far as the 2015 .. the only thing I like about it is the new rear panel and tail lights ... Everything else is just a mix of NOn-Mustang body lines that have been seen on numorous other cars over the years. Almost looks like a bastard child of a Charger and Camaro now ...
This could possibly be the demise of the Mustang .... if I wanted a curvy World-Car .. I'd buy a BMW M3 or an Audi ....

A base GT with no options is not going to jump up to 35K. No way. I dunno how some of you guys are thinking the prices are going to increase that much. The current price of a decked out 2014 GT is too high IMO. If you load one up with all the goodies, you're looking at the same price as a used Boss 302 or GT500. Not like I'll be purchasing a brand new 2015 model, but if I had the money for it, I would probably just go for a Boss instead.

I think the new Ecoboost 4 cylinder sounds interesting. As far as how it sounds, I can't imagine it being any more boring than the current V6 models. They are quiet as a mouse in stock form and if you add an aftermarket exhaust, it just doesn't sound like a Mustang IMO.

Lmao, If you think the V6 exhaust is quiet your in for a real treat with a 4 banger exhaust.

To be honest, I couldn't care less how either one sounds. I would never buy either one. I just think the Ecoboost is something new and interesting. It will attract new buyers which is a smart move by Ford.

The more I think about it, I'm not sure if the 4 banger will be a big seller here in the US. European markets I can see doing well because larger liter size causes much higher taxes on the car. Not too mention fuel is more costly in Europe than here in the US.
I think price will be a huge factor and how much less the 4 banger will be compared to the V8. A true mustang muscle head wouldn't be caught dead buying a 6 banger let alone a 4 banger. Majority of female consumers who want a nice looking mustang that don't care about 420 plus HP or turbo will just buy the V6 because it looks amazing and has great pick up.
The guy who is looking at the 4 banger may say, why the hell would I buy a 4 banger when I can get the 5.0 for a few thousand more. Its not like the price gap of 7k from a V6 to V8. For a few thousand more one will step up to the V8 and forget about the 4 banger. That 4 banger will be fast as heck but doesn't matter how fast, in the eyes of people, one will get laughed at when you say you have a 4 cylinder mustang.
I don't see the 4 banger selling that well unless the 5.0 is so grossly overpriced that the 4 banger is 7 to 8 k less. From my understanding, the 4 banger turbo is speculated to be costly and close to what the 5.0 costs.

Exactly! I came out of a BMW Z4 coupe not because it didn't handle or accelerate fast enough- but because I wanted a Mustang (you know, an American sports car). Otherwise, I'll just stick with an M3, G37, or an S5. IIRC, the solid axle on the current GT manages to hang with the M3 on a road course, so all the blather about the IRS is a bit lost on me.
I have a '65- and was going to order a '15 in the same color combination. That plan changed the first time I saw a quote from a Ford executive stating they would be "radically departing from the retro theme." I realized if the '15 ended up being amazing I'd be losing a ton of money when I traded in the '14, but when I finally saw the pics of the '15 I felt like that old knight should show up and say:
The Mustang was the only car on the Ford dealer's lot that didn't look like every other Ford. All they've done is morphed it to take away some of the uniqueness. So, the launch of the S550 was a confirmation for this S197 owner. But who knows, maybe I'm just an old timer who doesn't "get it" (because I happen to also hate what GM has done to the Vette... that car is pure ugliness from every conceivable angle- at least the Mustang isn't totally "ruined").
All that said, I hope Ford sells a ton of them- still looks better than the Camaro (but not as good as the Challenger).

You know the exhaust sound from a 4 banger has to be horrible like a weed whacker. No way there is any rumble there.

Same deal with the V6. People who are going to be buying the new Ecoboost and V6 models aren't going to be buying the car for the "rumble." Same thing applies right now. People go with the V6 because it's cheaper to buy, better on gas, cheaper to insure, looks no different than a GT to a non-Mustang enthusiast, etc. These same people will be buying the new ones. People who want rumble will continue to buy the V8's as they always have.

my next mustang (if I ever get the 69 finished first) will likely be a nice vista blue 08- just to have 'the full set' of vista years...perhaps a GT automatic as a backup in case my clutch leg ever gets hurt, seriously- one of my worst fears would be not to be able to drive my mustang all summer

I wonder if down the road Ford will do another "Bullitt" model with this new generation of Mustangs? Any guesses?
I got our 2014 GT a few months ago. We had a 2013 V6 for a year before that and loved it, but always wondered how much more gusto a GT would really have. Well, know we know. We just love this car. So it will undoubtedly stick around a couple years and then I'll see what's up with the new generation.
Never get tired of the acceleration in this thing or the sound!

If they did, the only possibility I could imagine is a 2018 model for the 50th anniversary of the movie. Considering they're moving away from the retro theme, I don't see it happening though.
