You did educate me about the price of the 4 banger back from the mid 80's. I actually had no idea if was 6k more than the V8 model. Good grief Ford. I was only 11 years old back in 1985 and never paid attention to car prices. Ha ha ha! Even in the early 90's of my high school days I don't recall anyone having the SVO model.

I wonder if Ford recalls why that SVO model back from the 80's wasn't successful and wonder if they will correct the failures by pricing it right. Do you think the 4 banger will actually cost more than the 5.0 this time as well?
I believe you are spot on previously. It will most likely be priced out somewhere between the base model V6 and the GT. I am thinking the option will be like a Taurus 2.0 ecoboost from an option pricing stand point. You can probably figure a $995 uplift.

Yeah that $6K increase for an SVO back in the 80's was huge considering a GT was like $13K. $13k for a GT or $19K for an SVO? LOL Before their was SVT there was SVO (Special Vehicle Operations). It had many firsts. It had 4 wheel disc brakes, intercooled turbo, 16" wheels, Koni shocks/struts all around. It's big claim to fame was how it utilized Lincoln MK VI (yes 6 not 7) front control arms. The K-Frame in an SVO was unique to the SVO only. Between the unique K-Frame and the forged steel control arms it gave the SVO a much wider front track and with the longer axles in the rear to accommodate for the rear disc brakes it also had a wider rear track. The SVO had a weight distribution that was darn near 50/50 so the handling was superb. If you own an SVO today and need to replace your lower ball joints you need to have a set of custom tubular lower control arms made. These run about $1,200 for a pair.

Hey at least you have a Mustang right now. I am waiting on mine to be built. It has a blend date of 4/21. The wait is killing me. I haven't owned a Mustang since I traded my 2011 GT 6 speed manual car in for a 2012 F-150 Supercrew with Ecoboost.

That probably isn't far off the mark. With 300 HP and that kind of torque it should be in the same ballpark with the 05-10 4.6 GT's. Maybe even better with the weight reduction of the S550. One thing is for certain. There will be a tune out for the ecoboost in no time that will crank up the boost, and fatten up the fuel mixture under load and I'll bet those go 350HP easy when tuned. You know all of those ecoboost engines are detuned from the factory.

Love the 2015, but still love my 2012 GT convertible in Kona Blue. Quite a few mods have made it my own and don't see any like it around. Besides, my better half would likely throw me out of the house if I mention another new car. Just picked up a 2013 F-150.

I liked the new 2015 renderings so much as they were becoming more and more real.... not cartoonish that I got rid of my 2013 GT500 in anticipation.

How can you say the 80's were about big displacement engines...the biggest you could get then was 305.....

I trust Ford engineers are well aware and have tuned the exhaust note to NOT sound 'farty'. I believe there are some videos with the camouflaged 4- cylinder cars, one of them sounding sporty.

I'm just waiting to see what Saleen or Shelby has in store for the body. The front bumper cover and deck lid are really making me not want to look at it right now.

they might have some pretty radical replacement kits on the drawing board to make her look muscular.

Maybe it will sound like a Fiesta ST or a Focus ST - it will sound like a hot hatch without the hatch...

Got to see the 2015 in person last night at Atlanta Car show … its even worst in person than in the pics. They had it displayed next to a 2014 GT500 ..and the GT500 just looked so much better. The 2015 proportions just all seem way off. Sticking with my 2012 for sure …..

The most beautiful car at the show had to be the concept 2015 M4 …..
