Wow now I'm a douche bag? For the record, my dealer has been a pain in the ***. Only way to get updates is too constantly call them. They changed my retail order to a stock order and didn't ask or tell me. Told me I had to put the money down at that time or they couldn't order it, then took a week to order it.

So I guess yeah, I am a douche bag for expecting some customer service after I committed to spending $35K+ with them.

I didn't cancel my order, am trying to be patient, but would at least like some kind of " hey this is what is going on and why we are holding them"

eci is one of those ppl that come here just to try to start a argument. It makes his life more fulfilling somehow? Who knows? Im not here to judge. Im my expierence the best way to deal with constantly argumenative ppl is to let them be. You dont have to convinced. If you are wrong, you are wrong with or without accepting it.

The problem with that is some dealers know as much as we do. You made the right decision since your car has been built already and i'm sure you'll get it sooner than others.

Like someone else said here: don't believe everything you read on the internet.

My original point was only that the process of ordering a car should be no different than ordering anything else. It would be nice if Ford just had a website where you could enter you VIN and get a status. I really didn't think people would take my comment and blow it way out of proportion.

Hey I'm sure once it gets here the waiting will be worth it!

I think Dodge or one of those other car companies does this for their customers, maybe Ford will adopt soon.

I'm sorry IT Guru. I was more upset with the way you phrased it originally and was trying to speak in generalities, not specifically at you. I was at work when I responded and was cut short. No excuse, I did not mean to insult you. As far as the douchebag comment, it definitely wasn't directed your way. My apologies!

Guys, be nice...
Or...TRY to be nice.. I know waiting has a lot of people on ...edge...

There could be any number of reasons why they haven't shipped yet.
Infact back in 2004 the same thing happened with the 2005s.
Whether this be a mass breakout, initial quality checks, part shortages...whatever...
It sucks, I know...

I'm one of those guys that would be making life miserable for everybody around me if I was waiting on an ordered car. I have the patience of a moth around a porch light.

Knowing this, and (more importantly) realizing that my wife knows it, is one of several reasons why the '10 is in the driveway NOW.

I'm already starting to worry about pre-ordering a '14 or waiting to see what hits the lots.

I think this will be my last time pre-ordering a car, just too much pent up excitement and I find myself trolling the net at all sorts of hours searching for info - maybe this is what's it like to be on CRACK.

You should recommend that in Fords submit an "idea" website.. Ford reads it.

Indeed. It wouldn't be as bad for me if I had something remotely similar to drive around in while I wait. My 95 4-cyl Wrangler I've been driving for the past 10 years is about as dissimilar as you can get.

I would lean towards it being some kind of quality check or problem. Why wouldn't they start shipping the GT's they already have built if it was just a part shortage??

I've been working at the same Ford dealership for 11 years. EVERY TIME a new - or substantially changed - model comes out we go through long waits for the okay to ship so that Ford can double & triple check everything for quality control. Ford is trying desperately to release each new model problem-free, and it is showing in their ever-increasing quality awards.

Just yesterday, Ford announced it has reduced warranty repair rates by 40% in their first three months of service. Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles' initial quality has improved for the past five straight years, and now Ford vehicles have the fewest number of defects of any full-line manufacturer.

When I ordered this car back in February, I told myself I wouldn't get impatient , because I knew it would probably be the end of May, first part of June before I saw the car. Now, with all of the awesome reviews, video's etcc.. I find myself checking this forum every few hours just to see if something has changed. I have never owned another car other than a Mustang (this will be my 6th), but for whatever reason, this one is definitely the most anticipated of them all. I know I will be driving around in it soon enough, so I keep telling myself a little more time to save for the down payment makes the wait ok.
