forget the SS...2011gt VS termi stock vs. stock

lets talk about an 3560lb all motor 5.0 liter 412hp modular vs. a supercharged 4.6 liter 3700lb modular.

termi = 425hp/3665 lbs = 8.623 lbs/hp

2011gt= 412hp/3560 lbs = 8.64 lbs/hp

thats is so cool. if the 5.0 is underrated by the 1 percent allowed under SAE rules.

termi = 425hp/3665 lbs = 8.623 lbs/hp

2011gt= 416hp/3560 lbs = 8.55 lbs/hp

IMO this car will out 'ET' a terminator stock for stock when the dust settles.

the cobra has wider tires ...275/40-17 vs 2011 gt 255/40-19, but the pirelli p-zero is a better compound.

the rear gear ratio for the 2011 is better 3.73 vs 3.55 for the termi.

easier to launch a live axle vs IRS for most drivers.

Your GT weights are a bit low. Other than that, good luck finding a stock terminator to race!

The terminator does have a broader powerband than a GT, you have to factor "area under the curve" not just peak power #s. All conditions equal the Cobra will beat the GT every time. The GT just doesn't make much torque until around 3500 RPM based on the dynos I have seen so far.

Where did your HP number for the cobra come from?

If you are going to use actual output numbers then you should use 430-435 for the new 5.0, shouldn't you?

We need to see some more dynos to determine that Ltngdrvr. You can just throw out the Edmunds dyno for starters. I stopped looking at that shop's #s when they showed 511rw on a stock GT500.

The 03/04 is well known to dyno 375ish on dynojet 224xLC's all over the country, not a few magazine dynos. The 425 is an approximation. It is definitely not 390.

The 5.0's trap speed in the current mag tests indicates around 415hp based on its weight.

Only the torque across the range of RPM that actually gets used matters. The 5.0 won't be running at low RPMs. Even so, I wouldn't be surprised if the terminator has the upper hand with a better torque curve across the used RPM ranges.

my stock 03 cobra 12.8 with me driving at 111mph and no speed shifting on the stock goodyears. Not sure what I will get out of my '11 but I am sure it will likely be the same.

anyway I believe Evan got a 12.4 out of stock 03 cobra and I expect him to get that ATLEAST if not a 12.3 out of a stock 11 GT.

so stock for stock it will be a drivers race simply because the 03/04 cobra is harder to launch, it is that simple.

the SS is kinda old news really. not much comparison there. im more interested in other cars and how the 2011 compares to classic Ford power.

Found one!

Well, almost. It has an X-pipe, other than that it's bone stock with only 552 miles. I do wonder how it would fare lining up with a 2011 GT.

Haha, you know a year ago I might have considered it. But with the 5.0 coming out now there's no way. The 2010+ are such an huge improvement over the new edge cars.
