When I was shopping around for my Mustang, the glass roof model I drove had the aluminum dash. Even with the solar tint, the glare was bad. I have a TBI from Iraq, so I am very sensitive to bright light. I just couldn't deal with it. Even with the shade pulled over, I still didn't like it. If I were you, I'd order the dark dash. Barring that, order the carbon fiber look pieces and have them put them on before delivery.

2012 With Glass Roof

I have sensitive eyesight and have not felt too much glare. The shade is very effective and the cabin feels wide open.

I have 400A and glass roof. I notice no glare from the aluminum. It's not like it's polished so I don't see how there could be major glare...

It's brushed so it's more like straight horizontal lines than swivels IMO.

And TOGAN, let's say your car does come in w/ too muce glare. You can order dash covers in tons of styles (hydrocarbon, carbon fiber, wood grain) so it wouldn't be that expensive to fix.

The Mustang in this picture is equipped with the 401A interior package, which has the dimple texture to the dash.

The 400A interior has a brushed aluminum finish.

I've got the glass roof and 400A interior. I've never noticed glare from the aluminum panels and have never had a passenger complain about it. I use Serengeti Drivers sunglasses and have found them very satisfactory for dealing with general road glare.

I think it has more of a classic look as well. Carbon fiber is for imports.

This is a misconception a lot of people think. It is used because it is a composite that contains other fibers like kevlar, aluminum, and glass. The strength to weight ratio is unsurpassed, which is essential in high performance racing and it demands a very high cost because of these characteristics. As more manufactures continue to invest in Carbon Fiber, the price will go down and it will be available as much as fiberglass is today.

And on the pic, that is an interior of a 401. It has a grey tint to it. The 400 looks more like a dull metal.

Im not sure strength to weight ratio really matters when its a dash kit.

If we are talking body panels, hood, etc...Im all for carbon fiber because it is lighter and stronger....but it's a little import-ish. If you go with it, paint it. Its good in small doses.....but can easily be overdone.
