Build, Delivered VIN Sequence

Looks like my car's ETA has slipped by one week...however my salesman sent me the vehicle visibility report which has the railcar number on it. So now I can call CNR and bug them about getting the train here faster!
But then again...17 days to get from Michigan to Ayer, MA seems a bit excessive. One can only hope it will actually arrive sooner!

OK - Dealer says the car is being built right now. After that, he says, it sits in a lot until it's time to be shipped, and it's then put on a truck and sent right to the dealer (I'm in the Chicago area, so no train for me, luckily).
Any thoughts on when I might get it? I'm thinking I should be high on the priority list, considering today marks the 2-month anniversary of my order.

Also, although my car had a build date of 9/1, Ford CS has been telling me it's "in production" since 8/31. Even on 9/3, it was listed as "in production". Strange, yes?

Say "Location"
When asked for initials, say the letters like "ETTX"
When asked for the numbers, say the numbers like "710350"
That was my rail car number, ETTX 710350.

So I just got an update earlier today, my car was brought in by train to Toronto (where I live) and is currently with Autoport. I'm getting my car with the GT500 spoiler lip, california special front fascia, rust proofing and paint protection. Does anyone know if they make these changes at Autoport or are they done at the dealer? Either way I'm hoping to have my 11 GT by the end of this week

We ordered our car on 7/24, Got a VIN on 7/26, window sticker showed up on 8/5, build date was 8/19, left the factory shortly thereafter, and the car is now lost in transit somewhere. Dealer has recently taken delivery of a car with a neighboring VIN, but our car has seemingly disappeared from the system. I'm beyond pissed and we'll be taking our business elsewhere if it doesn't show up VERY soon.

Good for you! I'm sure there some on this forum that will accuse of "not being a true Mustang fan" because you are unwilling to deal with a terrible delivery system.
If Ford would clean up their order/delivery system, they'd have such a leg up on the competition... maybe one day... sigh.

I wouldn't stress the delivery too much, though it is annoying that Ford is so hard pressed to get info on where it is and when it's supposed to arrive. Mine took nearly a month and a half to arrive on the lot. The general experience with a lot of people is that delivery is a crap shoot, and most people end up waiting longer for delivery than they did for building it.
