I got another update from my dealer! They've located my car. It is now on a broken down rail car in Chmpaign, Illinois. My dealer expects it to be delivered sometime within the next week or two. I'm just happy to have some information.

Maybe my dealer lied about the build date, but regardless my ETA from Ford CS was 8/2 which is what the dealer told me. Just wish I could see it

Initial ETA is usually about 1-2 weeks after build date so it's totally plausible. I wonder if it factored in the 2 week break though.

Are you certain about 104438, 107230, 107556 and 108301? I am sitting here wondering if it is just me that is unlucky.

Mine still is sitting in Melville, MI at the railyard - 17 days and counting waiting for a full load. Oh, there was progress however. Since the order was placed as stock it showed up on Ford's web site today.

You can, sorta. The system goes from "scheduled to week" to "scheduled to day" whenever it becomes clearer of what day it will actually be built. The larger the backlog ie at the start of model production, the more "wiggle room" they build in. As the backlog gets shorter and production becomes more stable they can predict the build date further in advance. The window sticker actually comes chronologically a week or so before actual production, because they print the label in plant. No need to have printed a label 3 weeks in advance when an order can be changed or cancelled.

Nope, not certain at all. These were early "dealer" cars that I had listed but KNEW they weren't at the lots. I didn't do any follow up on those. The only ones that SHOULD be pretty reliable are TMS members cars (this update included a few who I figured out got there's from other posts.)

It's not you who is just unlucky though. Check James (FritzOSU03)... there's all kinds of unlucky in his driveway too. You both had cars built about the same time.

Hey, but I think my luck is changing. Sure, my car might have been lost. And sure, when they found it they may have loaded it into a busted train car that was destined to have an epic failure of some sort in Champaign, Illinois. But, my dealer claims that they're expecting that busted train car within DFW by the end of this week. Maybe next week? Maybe this week?!

I hope it all goes well for you. I have seen your posts and I can't believe how calm you have been in the whole situation. Your luck sounds a lot like my luck. I thought waiting an extra month for my car was bad, but I can't complain after reading your story. Anyway good luck with the car.

Well, I keep telling myself that it'll get here when it gets here and there's nothing I can really do about it. It's been four months today. If I can keep from frustrating my salesmen (who feel bad about the whole situation) then I might be able to get an extended warranty or better offer on my trade. In all reality, I'm losing my effin mind over here.

You might try changing the check digit just in case. It's going to be 0-9 so there are only ten to look up. Just a suggestion. What's your VIN?

It has now been 96 days since it was built on 4/15/10
and 180 days since I ordered on 1/21/10.

Hopefully it should be here any day now.
