I thought I got the right vin # and eta from my dealer for my 2011 GT, but the salesperson gave me the VIN # for a V6 that is listed in their inventory. I'm starting to wonder if my eta is even correct. I'm wondering if I should have made the trip to Houston to order my mustang, instead of using local small town dealership. I guess I will be making a call on Monday to my Salesperson.

1ZVBP8CF9B5141820 is your correct VIN if your dealer is Varsity Ford Lincoln Mercury.

After some extra attitude from the local dealer (bought out of state and had it dumped locally) I have finally taken delivery.
VIN 1ZVBP8CF2B5126284 was delivered July 10th, so it can go to green.

Happy to have the car, but I now have zero dealers within a hundred miles of me I would ever do business with.

I was originally supposed to pick up this car May 28, 2010, but I had to put it off until June 30, 2010, then I was told they couldn't have it to the dealer until 2 weeks later no earlier than July 15, 2010. I was given $500.00 for the Jun 30 delay.

I'm about to go ****ing ballistic over this delivery time. It's been almost four months since I ordered this car, and now they've even managed to blow a week past their estimated delivery ETA? Can Ford really just not get their **** together at all?

In all honesty, I'm sure it depends on your unique situation and your dealer. But after this much time, I'd say advise the dealer you're done waiting. IMHO you can reasonably tell the dealer you want to go pick up the car rather than wait even one more day.

I'm saying this based on personal experience. My dealer offered to drive me to the rail yard 90 minutes away and have me drive the car back. However, timing was such that the truck got here before I could have gone to the rail yard. My spouse's dealer made the same offer when the Camaro came in on 6/14/10, and my spouse took them up on it even after working a 12 hour night shift. And there was no surcharge for expedited delivery.

Good luck, I hope you get your car soon. The glass roof is AMAZING!

I drove over to the railyard where my car was, it was disgusting how many thousands of cars were there. Demand they roll-call your car, Joker.

The Salesman probably just doesn't want to leave the floor to pick it up, that sucks, bug the GM about it.
