I did muffler deletes as soon as I got the car. I have no desire for cutouts. But I would like to hear that surround sound. I have an appointment for HF cats and an AED dyno tune in a couple weeks. I'll see how the HF cats sound to me. Right now the tone is perfect, I just want halfway in between from the muffler delete to now.

I just know that when I watch videos of late 60's and 70's muscle cars rolling through car shows they sound unbelievably great. I know they have big blocks and I don't. They have straight pipes and I don't. They have cams and I don't. But I'd like to get close to that.
I've wanted to comment on this thread for a while now, so thanks for giving me a reason.
I left out some of your post, but wanted to say - you and I have a similar set-up, and similar goals.

I am an "old" (older?) guy (most likely compared to most here... my guess), but I do have a lot of musclecar experience.

I own a 2014 5.0 MT Track Pack car - bought for a daily commuter (LOL!) Having spent over 10 years driving a Camry, and an Altima (they "found me" - I did not choose them. Good devices for transportation, but they are not "real cars" by my definition) But I digress.

The mustang has GT500 single-tip mufflers, and I was an early adopter for the TracKey - which you said you wanted.
Most recently, I added the Boss exhaust, as the TracKey instructions "recommend" it, and the dealer that I like happened to have one in stock that had been sitting around since 2011 and sold it to me cheap.

First, let me say the TracKey is awesome. Well worth getting, and the car feels MUCH stronger in the midrange. Interestingly, the changes to compression braking seem to make it easier to shift smoothly, at least to me.

Second, the Boss side exhaust - also awesome, definitely worth getting. The sound is fantastic. I run it without the restrictors, and I think you would be wasting money on the QTP cutouts. Honestly, its not loud enough to need silencing.

Where I really wanted to comment on was hopefully to clarify some of the posts in this thread and other saying the system was loud, or too quiet, etc. I know, that is an opinion issue, but another qualifying factor is the TracKey - believe it our not, it makes a HUGE difference. Unbelievable, really.

Before the "Lopey Idle" comes on, the sound is quiet, somewhat European maybe, great bark.
Sitting at a stoplight, or parking lot, when the car chimes, and goes into "lopey idle", the sound COMPLETELY changes - and gets much louder (especially at very low frequencies). It sounds like a totally different car, with much more compression, and a much more "radical" cam. Honestly, I thought the "lopey idle" was kind of gimmicky before I added the Boss exhaust. Not any more - the TracKey instructions are right - YOU NEED THIS EXHAUST with the TracKey. You will love it!

Sigh... Now I need the Track Key!... That actually is my next planned mod... On down the road anyway. And I need nice weather so I can install the quad exhaust!

The roush axle backs sound unreal, they came on my car and I was planning on going with borla S but the sound these things produce is unreal, like a dam race car. Aren't they the closest to no muffler?

This is the answer I was looking for! Ok, so I know that QTP cutouts will be not needed.
Track key is definitely on the list.

I just love the nostalgia and manly feeling this car gives me, and I wasn't even born in the muscle car era!

My mustang is a daily driver as well.

Hey guys I saw these and I jumped on it to soon I think. Not sure if these take Boss takeoffs will fit my GT/CS. They aren't the ford racing m-5220mb. The dude says they will fit but just want to make sure. The reason why I jumped on them was the price was good $570. Can someone let me know if I could install these and how hard is installation?

They look right to me!

The install is pretty easy.

You might need the bolts and rubber grommet. Check out 14RaceRedGT's post in this thread for part numbers.

Looking at the pictures from the ebay page looks like it comes with the bolts attached to the side pipes. Good find and great deal! You will love it.

Hey thanks guys for the advice. I am glad I made a great choice for a great price. Is there any difference between the ford racing kit and the boss. Also @14raceredgt if I have the bolts. Do I also need the grommets?

Also I just got my newsletter from Ford Performance (formerly Ford Racing) and apparently they already have a side exhaust kit (with x-pipe) for the 2015...

Wow really those b@stards. That's why they discontinued the quad for our 2011-2014 Mustang GT's. The Nerve.

Just looked at the pictures again on the ebay page and you can clearly see the grommets on the side pipes; you should be set. There shouldn't be any difference from both kits. My kit was originally from a 2013 BOSS and it fit just fine.

I've posted before on this thread, but I just have to say- if you can still find the Boss quad-exhaust set-up, you should just jump on it with both feet!

On my '14 GT, my exhaust is the GT500 ABs combined with the Boss quad exhaust (restrictor plates removed). I just ran a test drive of another mod (the Blowfish Racing shifter mount) and happened to have 3 early-20s passengers along (all who happen to own Mustangs of various vintages, btw).

As we downshifted to a light, one of the guys commented "This has to be the best exhaust I've ever heard on a car in my life." Keep in mind this is someone who has paid all sorts of money on a loud exhaust set-up for his Mustang Cobra.

To be honest, I have to agree wholeheartedly with him! The quad exhaust is loud when it should be, and quiet when it needs to be. Whoever designed this set-up should receive some sort of award for automotive genius. From my 70 year old auto-nut father to non-car people coworkers, everyone seems to love the sounds my Mustang makes. The quad exhaust is audio perfection!

I was planning on doing the GT500 ABs with the Boss quad exhaust, but since the quad exhaust scarcity happened I did the Bosses first. I love the sound with the stock GT mufflers. It is really "not too loud" with the restrictors removed.

I think that with the GT500s people with noise concerns will want restrictors or cutouts. But I had my wife drive my car around the block so I could check the volume and it's not objectionable at all.

I've even had some car snobs (I.E. VW & BMW owners) tell me that it sounds real good! :-)

$1200. Cutting required. Hmm seems like it would be easier to just get the GT500 style side exhaust for the 2010-2014 and get a shop to make that fit.
Probably cost a lot less as well (versus paying $1200)

I had an extra passenger side pipe that they sent when we were diagnosing prior to getting a whole new kit. I sent it back to them even though they didn't really ask for it back . Could have sold it! Oh well.

I recommend calling FRPP (FPPP?) and seeing if you can take (buy) some of that inventory off of them.

I say that laser because the kooks side pipes are UGLY as all ....! With the off road 3" you have there and factory side pipes. The combo would be awesome.
