Well perhaps I did get just a bit carried away, however when somebody refers to the term, "dated" I interpret that as meaning old.
At any rate, I should've said, that in 20 years from now. The current 05-09's, will then be considered as classic's.

25 Years from now that will be all the rage. All cars will be made entirely of black plastic, thanks to the 2010 Mustang, cause it made black plastic cool! Collectors will be Scavenging Recycle Bins looking for all the Black Plastic that people took off their 2010's and replaced with some dumb painted aftermarket piece, just to have a Concourse Restoration.

looking at the 3 pics.. Looks like the Camaro is happy and the Mustang is sad lol

Yep the 2010 Mustang GT does kinda looks like the new Camaro & even the Challenger with those squished grills and chopped off droopy eyed lights. With that and the big bulky looking quarter panel, they all three look more similar now then any other year in history...

[qu0ote=houtex;5706353]Except the '10 GT looks like the new Camaro in the front to me. Sorry 'bout that. And everything except the center panel got huge in the rear bumper. The *faux cap* got huge... or it looks like it grew about 15-20% anyway...
You know... this whole 'discussion' sounds a LOT like the fender issue with the Ram 1500s when they went with the 'Kenworth' look. It was very polarizing, some loved it, some didn't.
I agree with Rich (Rash) above, the interior is *sweet*. The exterior, not so much. If they made a special '09 with a '10 interior, I'd be all over it. Seriously.
/I'd have to have a large influx of cash, though, because I ain't partin' with Awesome to do it.

I don't think anyone would expect it to. Y'know, being a REFRESH and all.
It seems a bit ridiculous to compare the popularity of a refined version of an all-new design to the all-new design itself.

but if its a home run.. even with a refresh... it would still be close to what happened in 05. But it ain't happening.. I don't think any Mustang body style did in recent times (or will even do again)what happened in 05..
As far as popularity goes, I think that 2010 sales will be horrible. However, if the 2011 delivers a 5.0 and a 6spd and gas doesn't get out of control again, then I think that the body style holds a chance of at least matching the success of the 05-09's.
I love the 05-09's, I just feel that the 2011+ has a lot more potential.

Correction! Thanks to the Chevrolet Avalanche.

Besides in 25 years all that black plastic will have succumbed to the inevitable UV damage and become brittle and long since failed. The only serviceable 2010 Mustangs will be the ones that had all that hideous plastic replaced.

i think what they tried to achieve is a more aggressive rear end. if you compare the 2005-2009 rear to late 60s mustangs, the s197 is very thick from the ground to the top of the trunk lid. so they made a visually slimmer looking rear. i could do without the candy cane tail lights though.
im constantly back and forth about this car...however, I compare it to modded 05's like my own. So maybe I will change my mind about liking it after I see it with some aftermarket stuff, and by that time the 5.0 will be out. My car is never being sold but I might add to the stable.

With that said, since when is a muscle car supposed to look happy. As for the Camaro, I'd like to wipe that silly A$$ grin right off it's face. For it looks so gay
