Best review comparison pic I've seen so far...
Except the '10 GT looks like the new Camaro in the front to me. Sorry 'bout that. And everything except the center panel got huge in the rear bumper. The *faux cap* got huge... or it looks like it grew about 15-20% anyway...
You know... this whole 'discussion' sounds a LOT like the fender issue with the Ram 1500s when they went with the 'Kenworth' look. It was very polarizing, some loved it, some didn't.
I agree with Rich (Rash) above, the interior is *sweet*. The exterior, not so much. If they made a special '09 with a '10 interior, I'd be all over it. Seriously.
/I'd have to have a large influx of cash, though, because I ain't partin' with Awesome to do it.

All those '69-73's you posted pictures of have chrome trim around the grill opening, defining it & separating the grille from the headlights. The grille on those cars doesn't get lost in a sea of black that makes it look like a full width opening grille like a Camaro;that's what I don't like about the '10 GT. The chrome pony is even blacked out somewhat so that it doesn't show as well as it did when it was bright chrome. But like I said, it's easy to fix by painting the grille shell.
Personally, after seeing it in person, sitting in it, loving it...
It's a Mustang. Through and through. It's not here to please everyone. It's here to make a statement. Judging by the amount of conversations that have erupted after its reveal, I'd say it's done it's job.
I really like it. A lot. Not because I'm getting one, but because it's a Mustang that has evolved to keep it's faithful and acquire more fans. Like I said, it's not going to please everyone. No Mustang ever has. The important part is enough people DO like it. That is DOES stick closely to it's heritage but stretches that line a little so it can create even more ques that will be in Mustang design in the NEXT 50 years. I'm sure it's not easy to keep a car going, uninterrupted and well liked for five decades. Give it a break.
The Mustang has learned to adapt and so should we.

Yup, gotta agree.
I love my '05 to bits and it stands alone as a brilliant design. But, the 2010 moves the game on just enough. By the time it's dropped a couple of inches and sitting on some decent wheels (sorry, none of the standard wheels really do it for me), it'll be a stunner.

The '10 looks like it has the mumps. Will just have to see if they correct it in a year or two. Its just ugly and misshapen on so many levels. If thats the new and contemporary look, I'll take the old and classic thank you!
Yep the 2010 Mustang GT does kinda looks like the new Camaro & even the Challenger with those squished grills and chopped off droopy eyed lights. With that and the big bulky looking quarter panel, they all three look more similar now then any other year in history...

[qu0ote=houtex;5706353]Except the '10 GT looks like the new Camaro in the front to me. Sorry 'bout that. And everything except the center panel got huge in the rear bumper. The *faux cap* got huge... or it looks like it grew about 15-20% anyway...

I guess this look is the industry's way of going modern on a retro car. I also see a slight similarity, but I still see the Mustang looking the most different of the three and really not much different from 05-09.
Externally, the 10 is a definate step up from the 05-09 much more present day to compete with the european models without losing its inherent Mustang identity, and the interior is way ahead of where the present one is, which is good since it was the weakest area of the present model.
My 06 is fantastic, however, as soon as the economy recovers enough to allow it, the 06 gets traded in for the new design. If i could afford both I would consider keeping it, but given the choice between the 05-09 design and the 10+ design, the 10 wins out hands down.

I am on the fence with the changes to the front and rear fascia. I think I can get used to the front, but there is just something not right with the rear. I hate the tail lights and the black lower trim has to go. The hood has too many angles on it and seems to ruin the flow of the car. I LOVE the wheels, especially if they fit on the 05-09's. The tach on the right side is really nice. The center stack above the shifter looks too wide and out of proportion with the rest of the interior components. Other than those little issues I am somewhat pleased with the 2010. Now if they bring back the 5.0 before CAFE regulations kill any high horsepower V8, I may be interested in purchasing one.
It's like I've been feeling all along - I think the '10 looks DIFFERENT than the '05-'09...not better. Sure there are a few little design elements on the '10 that I like better, but taken as a whole it's six of one, half a dozen of the other, as far as I'm concerned.
Now, the interior and technology? ENTIRELY different discussion.
