The current cars tails are super huge, that was one of my largest complaints with the 05 is the the tail lights were so frickin huge.

I agree. The perception is that the '05 is wider and lower because of the lower taillights, bumper, and license plate. Just don't understand why Ford took this route with the '10 rear end. Some obviously like it, but it seems very un-Mustang, to me...

To me, the main focus area of the rear, the taillights and trunk area above the bumper, look smaller. that and the blacked out portion of the bumper give the illusion that it's smaller than the original design.

It does give the illusion that the car a bit taller since the taillight area is positioned higher than in the old design.

I love those 19s. But I also love the other 19s as well as the Shelbys. Good thing they give us so many choices.

Not sure how the rear will look if the black valance and skirt is painted to match.

As I see it the skirt can be changed without any problem to the look of the side but the rear is gonna need that black valance unless the whole rear bumper cover is redone it seems. Painting the valance alone will definitely make the rear appear distorted (and larger than the 05-09's) since the valance sticks out, there would be no smooth transition.

Those Motortrend pics just seal the deal for me - I like everything about the 05-09 better except the interior. It's interesting, but when you see the '10 on it's own, it looks like there were only mild modifications made compared to the 05-09. But seeing them together, it looks like a completely different car. The amount of difference in the front end is surprising when they're viewed together.

The black grille shell on the '10 GT really makes the front look un-Mustang-like, and I don't like that. In my opinion, that change is a worse change than the black plastic in the rear, or the taillights, which still are easily recognizable as a Mustang.

Luckily, it's an easy thing to fix, since the grille shell and grille are removable and that makes it easy to paint.

I love everything about this car except the rear valence and the engine output.

Exactly. It's every bit as 'Mustang-like' as the current car.

The blacked-out grille looks much more aggressive, IMO.
