2014 Ordered/Built/Delivered Thread
I stopped by the dealer on the way home- just to see if they had any of the 2014 brochures (nope). My sales rep must have recognized my '65 pulling in, because he met me at the door and said "I already have them looking up the info on your order's progress."
To which I said, "Oh, I already have my build date- Deysha told me it had a blend date of 13 May!" (I then explained the wonderful customer service available online from Deysha.)
So, after quickly establishing they have no 2014 brochures (and spying an Ingot Silver GT on the lot and once again wondering if the Sterling Gray was the right choice
- I think it was), I hop in the car and start it up.
Before I can pull out of the lot, the sales guy runs up to the car and says "Hey, when our guy pulled up your order info it showed your car has already been built. It may actually be HERE by 13 May!"
Now, I'm a manly man- but an objective observer might describe my demeanor since receiving that little bit of news as bordering on giddiness!
The blend date on the sticker says 13 May... maybe the factory got a bit ahead of schedule? The little code on the sticker still doesn't bring up a preview of the car online- so I figured it wasn't in the system (built) yet...
Before I get too excited, though- I'll wait to PM Deysha on Monday and get confirmation that the car has actually been built and is in fact on its way. THEN I'll start bugging everyone to know where that train is. (Point that train towards TEXAS...

)I don't know squat about these different dates, but my sticker (at the top) says Blend 120130429 and in large numbers 1729. Under "Special Order" (at the bottom) it says 04 22 13. Again, Deysha said it shipped today (by convoy) and ETA is 5/10/2013.
When I saw her PM and read it, I jumped up out of my chair, hollered "HELL YEAH" and did the Shim Sham Shimmy!!!
Man, that's good news. I hope your new ride arrives very soon.

Missouri Hoss,
Yeah, I was wondering about that series of numbers as well... Mine read:
DD291 N RA 2X 415 000400 04 29 13
I'm trying to figure out how my car could already be built when the blend date says 130513 on my sticker. Maybe that date at the bottom is when it becomes eligible to build?
Whoever said "Getting there is half the fun" obviously wasn't referring to ordering a car! Still, waiting for something does make you appreciate it more once you get it!

Must watch video...
There's a program called Mega Factories (produced by National Geographic, go figure) that did a 45 minute program on the Flat Rock factory that makes our Mustangs.
I had planned to watch it on the day my Mustang was being built- but since that day has apparently already come and gone- I watched it today.
All I can say is- WOW...
If you haven't taken a look at this video- and you have a Mustang on order- this video really instills an appreciation for the processes and people who make these cars a reality!

The refresh date is outside the blue border, and like you said, "is at the very bottom" of the window, plus it's in bold print. The "04 22 13" date I mentioned is inside the blue border, to the right of "Method of Transportation" block and below the "Item #:" block. In other words, it's in the bottom R/H block, inside the blue border. Here is the string...

Thanks Scott... That was my understanding as well (that the blend date was the projected build date). However, if my dealer was correct on Friday in stating that my car has already been built, somehow the factory must have built my car at least 10 days ahead of the blend date. Either they just got way ahead of schedule, or the dealer was pulling my leg (hopefully the former
).

Thanks Elkk. That kind of makes sense in the scheme of things. Flat Rock must have been ahead of normal scheduling to compensate for plant shut-down this week. Otherwise, this sounds kind of strange... My pony was scheduled to be built (4/29) 7 days after it was scheduled for shipment (4/22), but didn't get shipped until two days ago (5/3).

More than likely just a coincidence. An my eta is 5/1.
Deysha initially checked for me on Friday and told me mine was to be shipped that day (5/3) and the ETA in Marshfield, MO is 5/10, by convoy. I hope yours is delivered pronto.
Here's what I ordered:

I just read on Mustang Evolution where a poster said he checked with his dealership last week and was told all cars to be built with Recaros are on hold until seats are received. They are on a two-week backorder. This may or my not be true. Just passing on what I read over there. Deysha may be able to confirm this one way or the other.
