I just ordered my new Mustang today! I am able to use the xplan, $1500 rebate and $750 coupon. That's $3000 off msrp. Now the waiting starts

i ordered my gt 500 on 3/5/13, still waiting for a build date and a vin#, this waiting game is no fun

 

Mine says the Same as yours. They all say convoy. She gave me the Same eta as you with 5/15

Must be a lot more mark up where I'm at. For me x-plan its self is $3,000. Been the Same amount for the last 4 vehicles I've bought.

 

Is X-Plan a good deal- or is there usually more to negotiate? It knocked about $3k off my price (Neverl8, I'm guessing you are buying some heavily optioned cars- that's where the mark-up starts to add up), but I see lots of 2014s on AutoTrader listed by dealers at $5k below MSRP, so I wonder...

 

Idk if all places are the Same but here x-plan is $120 over invoice. An as for the "heavily optioned" cars. Yes an no. I got 3k off on my truck an it was just a xlt. A lot of it depends on your dealers. I've been to places where they say that xplan is this much an you can't use any other discounts. Just gotta keep in mind that they are not in the business to save you money. They are gonna tell you what benefits them the most.

Barring any unforeseen complications, the dealer should take delivery around 30 May. I guess when my dealer told me to expect a build date around 17 May, he wasn't far off...

I've got the VIN, and should be able to print a sticker around 8 May.

Of course, I've jinxed everything by circling 30 May on my calendar (the fellow in the next cube over closes on his house on the 30th... we decided against having a huge countdown sign).

Actually, I ordered on 11 April- but yeah compared to some I got my VIN pretty quick. I will be curious to see if Cobra 2997 (who ordered the same day) has gotten his VIN.

Now that I have a date (even if it is tentative), I am way excited again. For some reason, having a VIN number makes this all seem REAL. Its a lot like expecting a child and seeing the first sonogram (well, I guess if it were REALLY like having a kid, you would have to wait till close to delivery time to find out if its a manual or automatic, convertible or coupe, etc.- wow, that would make things interesting ).

I'm hoping the 30 May date sticks, because we'll have a lot of family in for our son's graduation on 1 June. If it doesn't come it doesn't come- but it would be cool to take dad and son along to pick up the car (I get my love of cars from my dad).

It'll still be a long wait- but today was a great day!

I am taking delivery of a 2014 mustang GT premium CS this weekend and am hoping for some insight as to what I should be looking for during my pre delivery inspection. I know once I drive away I am locked in. I've waited almost 3 months for this special order mustang and want to do my due diligence before parting with 40K. please advise.
