2014 Ordered/Built/Delivered Thread
Glad I'm not the only one that finds it odd lol. Best part was, when I got off work today they were unloading a truck. Must have just missed it. Lol
Congrats- Billvonfestang! Be sure to get the '68 into the pics you post of your new ride!
I was going to offer you a ride to the plant, but together, we couldn't afford all the gas it would take to drive my 4.0 Ranger 4x4 from Dallas to Flat Rock.
Thanks MHoss... Tell you what, you're on my way to Flat Rock, so I'll pick you up in my '65 on the trip up!
As Moses said to Pharaoh... "Set my Mustang free!"

Mine was ordered on 4/9 and shipped on 5/3. It should be here today or tomorrow. Deysha said it was in my state yesterday.
Come on Driver, mash on it and let's get that red one unloaded.
I really can't believe it....
I drove home in my 2014 V6 Premium w/Pony Package this evening. Sterling Grey... It took me about 20 minutes to get out of the parkade at my apartment building because I couldn't stop looking at that car. No matter where I stood the car was drop dead gorgeous. And sitting behind the wheel is just... well all I can really say is that in all the years I've been driving - and believe me it's been more than a few - I've never been so 'at home'. Unfortunately the roads in these parts are, by all accounts, boring. Flat and straight. I can feel some road trips coming on. Good roads are a few hours away but not out of reach by any stretch.
As for upcoming mods... CAI and exhaust are top of the list as well as a full, clear nose mask and rocker panels. Then perhaps some subtle striping. I've got to watch my budget as this is going to be a year round driver for me and need to save for winter tires and rims.

Congrats, Croxford! One of the neat things about this thread is seeing the pics as each car gets delivered. Glad you like the color- because mine will also be Sterling Gray (and I keep wavering on whether I should have went with a different color).
Drive and enjoy!!!

That would suck. Hopefully myself and others get scheduled/built before something like that could happen. How many are still waiting?
I'm guessing it will be an early end to this years model since they will begin building the fusion in July along side the mustang.

Did some google searching regarding the Recaro question - didn't see much, but I'll wait to hear back from Deysha.
I am in Northern VA, so I spend most of my track time at Summit Point, WV. However, i have been at VIR and love it much more! I do plan on at least one VIR trip a year...gotta drive 5+ hours and get a hotel. Keep us posted on your delivery and hope to see that car at VIR.
According to the documentary I watched, the factory produces around 600 (580) cars per day.
Assuming they ship roughly the same number, that's quite the logistical challenge! I'm estimating about 30 rail cars loaded with cars (15 per car) leave the factory per day (guessing about 30% of the cars leave the factory on trucks).
It would be cool to see a documentary on the logistics behind shipping the cars from the factory (one of those "How Do They Do It?" shows).

Ref the Recaro issue, I suspect you getting a VIN suggests that's not the case. I will wait for Ford Customer Service (I called today, and PM'd Deysha) before i let that other guy know his dealership is messing with him.

Nice to see others REALLY using these cars
Well, today was definitely a complete 180 from yesterday's experience. Got the call this afternoon that everything was ready and squared away, so I bummed a ride off a friend and headed down to the dealership. They got to me pretty much right away and they were much more friendly and attentive. After nearly hand-cramping from all the document signing, initialing, and dishing out a pretty hefty check, the salesperson handed over a set of keys and brought me over to this little beauty:

Sorry, but it was a pretty overcast day weatherwise...I'm hoping to get some better ones next time it's nice and sunny out. They spent a good half hour going over everything, making sure I didn't have any questions and that everything in the car was as expected.
Oh man, the ride was soooooo sweet bringing her home! I'll have to adjust a bit, as I'm still used to the 5 speed as opposed to the six speed. And I have to say, I ended up being even more impressed with the glass roof than I thought I would be...it really does make the cabin feel so much different.
Much, much thanks to Deysha for keeping me up to date on the journey, and thanks to all of you for walking it with me and sharing yours!

Congrats man- glad to hear everything went smooth in the end after a rocky start!
That color looks awesome, but there needs to be some pics of the glass roof!
(I checked off that option too- it was one of the primary reasons I needed to place a special order...)
