2014 Ordered/Built/Delivered Thread
Or, Ford could save me a lot of drooling and second-guessing if they would just.ship.the.car.they.built.a.week.ago!

Mine was built a week ago too . The plant is only 8 hrs away..just gotta wait for the right truck I Guess. Lol

Hi all..
I drive a 2011 Black GT currently and love that car. 3:73 with Brembos and Glass roof.
I could only go one better and ordered a Black on Black 2014 GT500 on April 16th with the SVT Performance package. I'm
getting the Shelby at MSRP but the dealership are hoping to make their money on the trade in if I choose to trade in the GT for $20k for a car with 28k miles. Not likely....lol
I haven't got a VIN# yet and from what I see from other posts on here, the wait time for the Shelby VIN# is significantly longer than for the GTs.
Starting to get excited.

It doesn't help that the guy sitting across from me has a Vette and constantly reminds me that when he ordered his car, he flew up to the plant, they met him at the airport, and he got to drive it home.
I'm going to stop by the dealer tonight and say "Hey guys, if it still isn't on a train, you should really be putting her on a truck- for the $795 you're charging me I could have privately shipped a car from Michigan to Dallas."
Just out of curiosity, if I decided just to buy a local Shelby at another dealer, how much teeth gnashing should I expect over getting back the $500 deposit? I'd feel guilty about sticking them with a highly optioned special order, but not that guilty!

It may help if you start visiting various dealers around the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Take a few test drives, while you wait for your special steed to arrive. You have lots of dealerships to choose from. In other words, "Burn THEIR rubber and save YOURS."
I'm sure that is sage advice... I was going to go drive this 2010 Shelby with 6k on the odometer over lunch- but it just started pouring rain.

I really like the silver on white- and the wheels are killer. It has navigation- but is just missing that glass roof. Of course, the extra 100+ hp might make up for that! They have a second Shelby at the same dealer.
If you don't mind me asking, about how much does the extended warranty run? I usually trade every 2-3 years, but this will probably be a car I keep for 5 years- so an extended warranty might be a good option.

Awesome- I just looked up the incentives and they have gone up from $1500 to $2000! That $500 will almost pay for the Roush axle back exhaust!
When I ordered, the dealer said I would get the best terms/rebate offered by Ford during the time my order processed.
I already have 1.74% locked in for 60 months (but I need to close the deal by the 3rd of June)- so that cash is mine!

Well, today was definitely a complete 180 from yesterday's experience. Got the call this afternoon that everything was ready and squared away, so I bummed a ride off a friend and headed down to the dealership. They got to me pretty much right away and they were much more friendly and attentive. After nearly hand-cramping from all the document signing, initialing, and dishing out a pretty hefty check, the salesperson handed over a set of keys and brought me over to this little beauty:
Much, much thanks to Deysha for keeping me up to date on the journey, and thanks to all of you for walking it with me and sharing yours!

I've had a roller coaster couple of days here, but now I'm doing a happy dance :-).
So today, I decided to give up on supporting the local business and see what I could find from bigger dealers. I struck out closer to home, but I hit gold with a dealer about an hour and a half away. They found a Mustang with all the options I ordered plus a couple extra for a little less money than I was going to pay just waiting for me. This one is black instead of sterling gray, but I can definitely live with that. I'll be taking delivery within the week!

Hot ****, I won't have to feed the 2011 Ranger 4x4 any longer!!!
I just received a call from my dealership saying that my 2014 Race Red GT Track Pack has arrived. I'll be picking her up in a couple of hours. I'll also have them check on the $2000 rebate. I could use an extra $500 off. I'll be getting my $500 special order deposit back too. This is a great day in the neighborhood.

I was too happy that the car arrived today to be pissed about 52 factory-driven miles. The salesman said it had 65 miles on it upon transport offload. The dealer tech put another 12 or so on during the PDI. I finally drove it 33 miles home and it already has 110 miles on it. I'll keep the sticker for coverage purposes. I may need it at the end of the 6/60 bumper-to-bumper extended warranty.

it's based on zip code... that's annoying, my zip code gets a $1500 incentive (put in 06066 instead of 28303)
Here in 75065, we get $2,000 on '14 (or $3,000 AND 0% on 2013).
My son just spotted a Leguna Seca with 6k on the odometer for $41k less than 10 miles from our house (fortunately, it has gawd awful red wheels- which makes it completely unappealing).

Some vehicles are randomly selected at the factory for quality checks/runs and some for more miles than others. This is why this paper is left in the vehicle to make the buyer aware.
Almost

Still hoping I get one of the $750 rebate brochures... then at least rebates would pay my tax

That's a LOT of red trim for my taste! Perhaps if the wheels were swapped out... I didn't realize the splitter was not street-legal.
