2014 Mustang details are starting to arrive...
Any info as to the GT Premium Coupe price for 2013 vs 2014? I didn't think the prices would go up much from 2013 models to 2014 models. Now, from 2014 models to 2015 models will probably be a different story, based on the speculated changes, mainly the IRS and whatnot.
On the rebates - I see the $1500 rebate available currently. If I go with a 2014, can I expect SOME type of rebate to be available? Like maybe the $1000 rebate that was available on the 2013's about a month ago? Or is it safe to say that there will be no rebates on the 2014 models until well into the 2013 calendar year?
I was planning on ordering a 2013 GT, but didn't realize until recently that the order cycle was coming ( or has come ) to an end. Living in Pittsburgh, I don't really want to order a car so early that it arrives in January ( and then I have to stare at it in the garage until May ). So now I'm planning to order a 2014 GT.
But here is what I've heard from a reliable source. The window for ordering the "2014" GTs will be very small - only a few weeks - starting around mid-November as I saw posted above in this thread. Then that production will close and no more "2014" models will be available. At that point, the production line is shut down as they re-tool for the 2014.5 models, which will be what most folks are calling the 2015 models. Because I'm not sure I will like the 2014.5 or 2015 models ( whatever they end up being called ) I plan to order the early 2014 model, most likely in mid-November. Hopefully it doesn't arrive until at least February - but even then I'll have to trailer it home. There's no way my baby will be driven on salty roads EVER, let alone on her maiden voyage!
I can't wait to pull the trigger in a few weeks...

2013 job 1 was 2/27/12, 2014 job 1 is mid january 2013(moved up 1 month).
If Ford is wanting to release the new body Mustang 50 years to the date of the 1st one, it should come out 4/17/2014. If that is the case, I do not see the 2014 run being any shorter. I might be wrong in my thinking but I am sure there are more qualified people here to set me straight.
As above......I wouldn't expect the order books for the '14 models to be only open for a short while.
Yes, the 2015 (or '14.5) will likely be launched 17th April 2014, but that's not to say you'll be able to order one on that day. It's possible you may be able to order before that date......possibly after that date.......guess it depends on how well the development of the S550 has gone and whether its ready for customers on the actual 50th bithday date. I'm sure Ford are trying to hit that magic date though
I'm totally with you on not wanting to drive your new car in winter conditions. I'd be trailering it home, too. Then polishing it lovingly in the garage, awaiting that first warm Spring morning

BTW, great color choice! I ordered my 2013 GHIG GT on 10/2 and it's already built with an ETA of 11/11, so the early-mid November delivery by your dealer would've been possible, but just didn't happen for some reason.
Don't know how much shorter the run will be.

That's why I thought it made sense that the 2014 production run / order window would be shorter than normal.
great information... I'm missing my 2005 GT so much that the next car has to be another Pony... I'll be in the market in August 2013, the way I see it is that I should not expect a lot of leftover cars and it'll probably be safe to order my car early... Especially if the new one is butt ugly !
Any info on the end date for the 2014 production run? I'd like the car to arrive as close to springtime as possible so I don't have to stare at it in the garage for 4 months until the snow melts.

That's what I was told when I called Ford Corporate, in Dearborn, yesterday and talked to one of the managers.

It's normal. Final '14 pricing hasn't been released yet, but us dealers are free to start submitting orders now. Happens like this most every year. Give it a few more weeks and pricing will show up.
Thx for the info Brian. I am the cause for the hold, not my dealer. I was hoping to see a better estimated price before I have them place the order. I will have them put the order through and adjust if needed once the pricing is finalized.

My name is Andrea and I am a Social Media Specialist for Ford (and a Mustang enthusiast).

Although there hasn't been an official announcement as to when the 2014 Mustangs will be available, you can check here for upcoming Ford news: http://media.ford.com/
I would also be more than happy to track it for you once the order is placed. All I need is the order # and the dealer information, but I will remind you again once we get closer to the release of the 2014 Mustang.
Have a great day!
Andrea
My fingers are crossed that the 2014 pricing is darn close to the 2013 pricing.
Does anyone know if Ford offers incentives right when the order banks open, or if you have to wait a while until they offer incentives?
