2014 GT500s aren't scheduled for start of production till March of 2013. Sorry Earl.

 

Hey Brian, just ask your regional Rep to tell you your allocation. I asked ours on Thursday when they were here and it was confirmed that I'm getting 2 cars (which are both sold already). Just give them an email/call and they will tell you.

 

Thanks, Jeff, we had our wholesale meeting on Friday and I asked our Ford Rep. He says we're only getting one 14 GT500 (and we won't get it until summer), but he hinted that we may get a second one in the fall or winter perhaps (we typically get an extra GT500 every year above and beyond "allocation" somehow when the region doles out their extras near the end of the model year).

 

Do we know when the 2014MY last day to order is? Is Ford not telling yet since it would give away dates on the new 2015.

 

I'm interested in this, too. Personally, I think the '14 model year might have to be a long one. Lets face it, if the '15 isn't actually seen until April next year, that means this MY has to be a long one, doesn't it? And how long after the '15 is shown will it actually take before customers start to receive their cars.

 

If history is an indicator, I speculate that we will be seeing similar cutoff dates for this model year as last (end of Nov/Dec) with orders for the new car sometime soon after that (Jan/Feb?). I think we will see the new Mustang at next year's Detroit Auto Show in January, so by then, I could see ordering starting soon thereafter.

I also speculate production to begin in February sometime, with the requisite quality holds into March, so that the car is in showrooms just before the the 50th anniversary. I don't think it will FIRST be introduced in April. If anything, I think there will be a period where nothing is built as opposed to the building right up to the time the '15 starts up.

 

I think you may have something with that time frame. Seems like Ford has been pushing out the MY dates to align the 2015 with April. I am sure they have been planing this for a few years. Wanted to make sure that I just didn't miss where the entire 2014MY build / end dates were already released.
