2014 Mustang details are starting to arrive...

For example, I owned a 2000 Mustang "Spring Feature" GT Coupe once upon a time. That Spring Feature package was option code 54X. The 2001 Mustang Bullitt was a GT with option code 54B. So, I suspect that the '14 Appearance Packages will likely be some sort of stripe or fascia kind of offering.
yeah...definetly keep this thread updated. I'm really curious to see how the 14MY turns out.
The lack of a Boss or any other Special edition in your search, is surprising. It is the final year for this model afterall.
I'd be expecting to see something special to go out with a bang.
There's talk in the car testing industry of a 500HP pony. Not sure how reliable this is.
Personally, I don't see the current 5.0 pushing that much naturally aspirated.
And the other question I'd really like to see answered, is what Ford is going to do about the Canadian spec GTs.
How will they compensation for the LED Fogs.
Are we to expect a V6 looking GT again!

I've always wondered why the years are "off". I get introducing models early, etc, but shouldn't the 2014 changes be made available for sale say, in very late 2013? I.E. Match the rest of the fleet.

Brian, any details on the appearance packages other than their declaration?
It had always been stated that the Boss would be a 2 year model run only ('12/'13) so I'm not surprised to see it gone.
That being said, I had hoped that perhaps we'd see a SE as a last hurrah for the S197. A Mach 1, using the RoadRunner engine and Boss suspension, with a fully loaded interior would have been great, and relatively easy to.
However, if a few paint/facia options it all we get, then so be it, especially it if mean ALL effort is being put into the all new '15MY.

You're welcome. You're correct that 2015 will be the big year. 2014 is really just a carryover year with minor detail changes. Looks like all of us would love to see a special edition of some kind to slot between the GT and GT500, though.
Will Ford:
a. follow precedent set in 1984, 1999, 2004, and 2009 with a simple side badge and maybe appearance package?
b. simply pretend they don't know what we're talking about and introduce the new 2015 model as the, 50th anniversary Mustang?
or c. (my personal wish) have an abbreviated 2014 mustang year and bring out the new model as an early 2015/2014 1/2 a la 50 years ago and beat out the next gen Camaro and SRT 'cuda as the first 21st century pony car out of the gate.
A 50th anniversary special S197 would also be interesting, especially if its more than an appearance package like the Camaro's 45th anni package.

Oxford white is more of an off white. It is not as bright as the Performance and Polar whites. It was used on most Fox Stangs from 84-90ish. The 20th anniversery cars were Polar white. When parked side by side, it look dirty compared to Performance White.
If so I wonder how Ford will choose to handle the 2014 model year (50 years since 1964).

Not surprised to see the Boss sticking to the two year run since that's what they said from day one. I too would like to see a Mach1 which is basically a loaded interior with the Boss motor and suspension. However, it's probably in Fords best interest to just keep it limited to the V6, GT, and GT500 next year with all efforts focused on the 2015.

GHIG is still being offered in 2014. I only listed the GT/CS colors, not all Mustang colors. The only 2013 colors that went away were Red Candy (replaced with Ruby Red), Performance White (replaced with Oxford White), and School Bus Yellow (assuming the Boss 302's aren't coming back for 2014).

Call me crazy, but I think they're going to release a beastly version of the S197 for the final model year.
I know it was a test mule that had IRS, but I'm almost certain they're going to offer it on the 2014 model, if not all of them.
Turbo-charging the 5.0? It's possible!
What am I getting at? ... 2014 Mustang Mach 1
Please?
