Ah, but not all '89's had them! The early '89's built through December '88 had the 85 mph speedos and no 25 year badge (as well as low-back seats in the LX 5.0's). The middle '89's built in the 1st quarter of '89 got the 140 mph speedo and no 25 year badge (but the LX 5.0's got the GT's high back seats). The later '89's built from April '89 and on got the 25 year badges. Then, of course, the '90's got the 25 year badges, as well, making for about 15 months of Mustangs with the 25 year badges. Perhaps an acknowledgement that the 1965 model year actually lasted for more than a year, too (April '64 through August '65).

I owned a middle '89 LX 5.0L that was built in January '89 (I bought it new in March 1989), so I studied the running changes for '89 quite a bit.

That's it for now, but I'm sure we'll get more info in the next few months. Ford shows the 2014 Order Banks opening on November 12, 2012 with 2014 scheduling to start on December 6, 2012. 2013 Mustang production ends on January 11, 2013 with 2014 production to begin shortly thereafter.

BUT, I received information from a reliable source that Ford actually started production of the 2014's already and will not begin shipping until 2013. Can you confirm this information?
I'm thinking 2014's are rolling out earlier than originally planned in order for the re-tooling and early entry of the 2015's.
